Hello to everyone, dear Acer product technical-support,

I recently bought an Acer Aspire A515-45 with Ryzen 5-5500U and i'am reporting exactly the same problem.

I had plenty of laptops before, no one with this problem.

When Laptop is below 30%, if i plug the power cord the CPU drops at 400 Mhz and stays there until de Battery reaches 40%.

I want an official opinion about this problem, as I am seriously about returning this laptop if I don't get a solution, BIOS update.

It is not normal for me, as I need this laptop to be ready for work either is 20 % battery and I'm trying to charge it.

    Please fix, thank you!

You can't get an official opinion on this Acer users forum since we are not Acer employees or technical service contractors. We are only Acer users just like you trying to help other Acer users.

However, as an Acer user to another Acer user, I unofficially suggest that your laptop seems to be performing normally when battery charge level drops below about 50%. This is because battery charging takes precedent over CPU/GPU load demands. Then the processors therefore start to throttle so battery can charge. Accordingly For maximum time under heavy loads, battery should be 100% charged and plugged in. Both battery and charger must work together to meet heavy power demands so battery will actually discharge during those times. When charge drops below about 50%, throttling will start again. Time to stop trying to use heavy loads and let the battery charge back up to 100%.
