Hello everyone,

Recently multiple issues came to my laptop PT515-51 and the maintenance reinstalled windows on my laptop erasing everything on the drive including the recovery of its original predator triton 500 windows copy. and i am looking for a copy the same as my model PT515-51 or another model close to my laptop such as PT515-52 or etc.

Please if you have an ISO copy or you have the triton model please help me here.

Best of Regards,

Kozhir

If the machine was purchased in the US or Canada, you can order a USB recovery media from the Acer online store for about $40-50. If purchased elsewhere, click on this link. Select the country where it was purchased. Click the support link near the top of the country page. Then locate an authorized Acer service center to see if they might be able to supply the recovery media.

Not Acer, I'm outside of US now I have a broken GPU fan and needed a fresh reinstall, but took my laptop some place not official and they ruined it. now I have to do it all over again by myself.

    Thank you JackE,

I have checked online and I'm wondering why it was only available on acer store. I have another Lenovo X13 and all factory images were available online whenever I needed a fresh image before. I wanted to check if there was a quick ISO image online that I can download because it may take few weeks till I get my flash drive or DVD copy. Or maybe if someone with the same model as mine could send me an image copy.

Any further solutions it'd be great!

    Thank you guys.

To reinstall Windows, you can use the Microsoft USB media creation tool

    acerWinISO

Then check Device Manager to make sure all hardware seems to have the proper drivers If not, you can go to the ACER OEM driver download site for the PT515-51

    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/7905?b=1

The download site also has the Acer apps like PredatorSense.

    Hello JackE,

Thank you for your support your method worked properly.

I have one more situation here, my laptop is not as fast as before. even opening the Explorer takes about 1 or 2 seconds to run or response. here i attached a short recording of my desktop screen notice the explorer and when i rescale the different windows it's catching up to the corner I drag. generally it's way much slower than before the reinstall of the system.

*All drivers and applications are installed.

*The system is up to date.

    Thanks Again.

Was the WD NVME card factory installed? Because it seems wasteful to run SSD in 'RST with optane' SATA mode.

Yes, it was factory installed... or at least what I expect from it. because in 2019 I had it delivered to me when I bought it from Acer's amazon, and I saw a second seal over the factory seal. back then, I didn't pay much attention because I used it as a home laptop. but because you mentioned the SSD I remember I had a serious problem with it. sometimes when I turned on the laptop the BIOS couldn't boot to the system showing an icon with the message "no bootable device". every time I checked for my SSD if it was damaged or something, but it all turned out to be good. also, we could detect the SSD by an external media installation tool on a flash drive and it was found and detected by the media installation tool. Afterall, by removing the SSD and some other changes, it worked back then and last week before I took it to that local maintenance it has the same problem occurring as I did a system reset myself before taking it to the local maintenance.

I did not understand what you meant by the (SSD and "RST with optane"). what are your suggestions and what do you think I should do? these days I have learnt a lot about my laptop and other stuff I hope you can help me learn more and get to a solution as well.

    Thank you JackE.

    OK. Try this procedure

    1. Boot into Windows normally
    2. Press WIN+R. Enter 'msconfig'. In the msconfig boot tab, checkmark SafeBoot
    3. Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change setting that are currently unavailable near' top of next pane. Scroll down and UNcheckmark box for fast startup.
    4. Shut down Windows
    5. Turn machine on and immediately tap F2 to enter the BIOS menu again
    6. Change SATA mode to AHCI which is preferred standard SATA mode for this SSD
    7. Press F10 to save AHCI setting and exit the BIOS menu
    8. It should then boot into Windows safe mode and load the AHCI drivers
    9. Press WIN+R. Enter 'msconfig' again. In the msconfig boot tab, UNcheckmark SafeBoot
    10. Shut down Windows SafeBoot normally
    11. Turn machine back on and Windows should start normally in AHCI mode. Don't re-enable fast startup as it can cause problems too.

I did it as your described and it's a little faster compared to before.

till now most of the issues were resolved and I can use it like this to catch up for the work I have to do on my laptop.

do you have any other suggestions for this situation? and what are your advices on my storage device?

    Thanks a lot. (^__^)

Thanks for reporting back. Do you have any 3rd party anti-virus running in the background? Uninstalling them can speed things up more. Most users only need Windows Defender and Malicious Software Removal Tool which are automatically updated by Microsoft.

No JackE there is no other anti-virus software installed, I only use windows defender. also I disabled all unnecessary software on windows startup. when I bought the laptop it had Norton on it with 30 days trial but I never needed it and kept using Windows Defender.

I noticed the overall performance is better. thank you for your help you really helped me here and taught me a lot. Thank you JackE. (^__^)

by the way, I need some parts for my laptop, same model. do you know where I can get it online? I need to replace the GPU dual-fan and use new screws for my motherboard.

Keep a Macrium Reflect image backup now that your laptop runs better. Regarding the parts, it would be better if you contact Acer Support directly to at least find their part numbers.

Fans are usually sold by Acer distributors that are integrated with the thermal module and heat sinks, thus fairly pricey. The fans themselves are fairly cheap (~$15usd), generic 5vdc laptop CPU/GPU variety available from many sources. Just order by the mW power or mA specs listed on the fan labels and mm size. Shown below is a screw list use in all parts of the laptop. I'd just order a laptop screw kit which contains 100s of different type laptop screws for all laptop manufacturers. Less than $10usd.

Thank you XdxD. I don't know about that method of cloning, I'm gonna check it out for sure. however, I may be doing another rest with the new windows I installed. I figured that the cause of removing my original windows was because they did a total reset with cleaning the hard disk. so the windows could not recover the drivers and installed software. so I'm gonna try another reset with my drivers installed, then to clone the system on an external storage media.
