Incorrect Drivers for KA272U monitors and not being detected correctly by Windows 10

I'm having issues with 2 KA272U monitors not being detected correctly by Windows 10 and not allowing the full 2560x1440 resolution. I attempted to download drivers to manually install rather than the Generic PnP drivers that Windows insists I use. However, upon downloading I was unable to install the drivers. After checking the .inf file I found they are not for my monitor. Although the title of the files is correct the .inf file states it is for an EB550K from 09/09/2017 and doesn't have any of the correct display information for the KA272U monitors. I need the link on the website to be updated so the correct driver software is available, or another place to download the drivers from.

Go to this link. Choose the country in which the monitor was purchased. Click the support link at top of country page. Enter the monitor's serial number id (SNID). Then use the chatline or phone number provided to alert them to the problem.

This link should be the correct driver. I just download and unzipped the archive and find what seems to be the correct KA272u info file. Use a text editor to change the EB550K to KA272U in the sections of the INF to see if it'll install

I did that before posting here but the hash value of the .cat file didn't match after making the changes and there are incorrect values for the supported resolutions so more than just changing the values within the .inf will be needed.

I tried that one yesterday as well. Sadly it's only 1920x1080 and won't support the full 2K resolution of the KA272U monitor. Tried to adjust the max resolutions in that .inf as well and it gave the same error stating the file had been modified.

All the worldwide download sites seem to have the same driver error. We on the user forums have no direct or easy way of getting the downloads corrected any time soon even with help from the forum moderators. Have you tried any driver freeware tools to see if they can pick up something better?

I got a KA272U yesterday and tried to install the driver downloaded from Acer. I met the same problem. It seems that Acer does not fix this issue at all. For my case, the Windows 10 Pro says the monitor is a "Generic PnP Monitor" and the driver installed by Windows itself works not so bad. I got the QHD, but no 75Hz refresh rate, noly 59.951 Hz and 60.011Hz for selection (Graphic Card is Intel HD Graphic 4000).

Tried the "resolution" provided here, it was a joke, the final inf file listed would not install. NO EASY support email, or online chat to get a resolution!!

Drivers aren't needed for most, if not all, PnP monitors. They send the appropriate info to the GPU as part of the connection negotiation.

I bought this monitor and hooked it up and it looked nice. After a few months, I realized the image I was seeing wasn't 2k. But I'm now beyond the return window so I can't send it back. I opened the Nvidia Control panel thinking I could manually force it to 2K resolution but no. I noticed that it was detecting that the connector was DVI instead of HDMI. The monitor doesn't even have a DVI port. I'm thinking this is the issue since the max resolution for Single-Link DVI is 1920 X 1200. I need to find a DP to DP cable to see if that will fix it. But if not, has anyone found a solution?
