Hello people smarter then me, I'd love it if someone can help out.

I just bought a Acer monitor Nitro VGU Series/VG271U (acr06d7) on the box it said the monitor is 144hz however when I go to the advanced setting and there is only 60hz available from the drop down menu.

My GPU is a AMD Radeon R9 200 Series, I don't know if it's relevant but thought I better leave it here.

Can someone tell be what I'm missing and how to fix this.

Thank you.

First make sure that you have the last driver for the AMD Radeon R9 200 Series and then have a look at this guide "AMD Radeon Settings Refresh Rate Guide. Change Refresh Rate" as and if this does not work (as this is a common problem with the AMD Radeon R9 200 Series gpu) then you cant have 144Hz refresher rates.

There are a bunch of different AMD Radeon R9 200 Series models. Is yours a 270, 280, 290, etc.?

In digging through a bunch of reviews on the AMD Radeon R9 290 I don't see any that mention support for higher refresh frequencies than 60Hz... After all, it is several years old and wasn't their top of the line when produced.
