Hello.
So I started my spin SP111-33-c6uv today and got the "no bootable device". Iv tried resetting the bios, drive is not showing there.

So before I open it up I hoped someone could tell me what options I have inside in terms of changing storage. Is there an emmc I can change, sata-SSD possible, nvme m.2 support etc.

Or if anyone has a good fix for the problem perhaps.

Your SP111-33 has either an eMMC drive or a 2.5" SATA drive or both. What size drive is in it now? Typically if it's under 128GB it will be the eMMC, if over it'll be a SATA. Either way you can install or replace the SATA drive with a SATA SSD and use that as your boot and system drive.
Before you open it up use a different computer to download and create a Windows 10 64bit install flash drive. We will be booting from that to try and recover your existing stuff or to install a new image. With the flash drive plugged in you should be able to get into the BIOS and set Secure Boot as disabled and the F12 Boot Menu to enabled. Once you save and exit with those set, reboot and use the F12 key to select the flash drive for booting. Let us know when you are at that point and we'll see about recovery.

Opened it up tohave a look. The HDD/SSD spot is empty and no connector present. So It seems this is a MMC only unit. Can i change that then, and where is it located. Its not easy to see as in normal laptops.

So if my emmc is dead and there is no other way of adding a drive it seems I have 2 options.
Either replace the main board or run OS from the USB 3.0 or microsd slot.
So then I would think the USB 3.0 slot is faster than the SD slot.

But is there a way to download an instal image from acer to another computer so I can make an install usb? Not sure if these run a more light weight windows 10?

Tried the above. Iv disables secure boot, fresh windows 10 boot image on usb drive. The bios finds the USB drive, but it just stands forever spinning the wheel and try booting from it.

I am escalating since I don't find the part number for the SATA cable that you will need in order to mount a 2.5" drive.

Dont think this one have an port for that. It seems some of these models have either sata or emmc. And this has an 64gb emmc that does not show in bios suddenly.

I believe the port is there on all revs, since they don't have different part numbers for different motherboards listed in the FRU list. Here's the diagram for connectors:
As you can see, the HDD connector doesn't look like a typical SATA connector. It has a ribbon cable that goes from the small connector to a normal SATA data/power connector.

    Hello,

My Acer spin 1 SP111-33 cannot find the Hard Drive emmc and its keeps on displaying "no bootable device". I am thinking that if it's possible to have external storage and install the o.s in it?

Does the hard drive appear in the bios info tab?

The SP111-33 models had an option to have a HDD installed instead of the eMMC. I don't believed they shipped any of those options though, so the parts list doesn't include the numbers for the SATA cable or HDD bracket. I've asked the moderators to see if they can get us the numbers...

And I got the answer: Cable part number: 50.H0VN8.006 and HDD bracket part number: 33.H0VN8.003. The screws are M2x3.5 (5) to hold the bracket in place and standard flat head screws for 2.5" HDD (usually #6-32x0.25") to hold the drive to the bracket.
