50-58 degrees appears to be a standard operating temperature.
Bios version 2.06 is the most up to date version.
I think you are fine and nothing is wrong with your notebook
I believe it will not shutdown unless you go over 104 degrees.

Hi Darwin,
I would consider checking the Acer download site to see if there is a BIOS update for your model.
Then if the notebook does not shutdown whilst in use then it is normal. If you really wanted then you could invest in one of those notebook coolers which sits underneath it providing additional cooling.

I am also a new member. I have tried to reach tech support but am told even with a new warranty, there is a $19.95 fee for the call. I have only owned it for a little over two months and am being told my paid warranty is only good until 11/2013. Any advice on how to get my ultra notebook fixed? I have to hard boot it every time I want to do anything with it. I am a student and need my pc

is it okay if i'm playing while charging the laptop?
because when i'm playing normally, the fps go to 30if charging it can go to 100++
but the temp 80++ degree
will this damage the hardware?

A lot of games are naughty and are made to use 101% of resources so things can get quite warm.
You will know there is a problem because it will power off. I would suggest not using such high resolution and all the max graphics settings if you are really worried about heat. Or buy a notebook cooler that sits on the underneath and uses a USB port to power extra fans.
The notebook will power off so it does not get damaged

oicc
thankss
so no need to worry about the charging and playing stuff
btw will it make my battery drop?

Personally I take my battery out and use only adapter. I charge and discharge my battery once a month just to maintain it.
Everyone does their own thing, that is my way

how long have you been using this method?
i look at other website and it says that this method can harm the hardware0 -
Running off my adapter and only charging/discharging my battery once a month ? For over a decade
I don't know what you are reading or where you are getting your information from, care to share ?

sorry
it says that if i dont use the battery and the electricity is down, the short circuit can damage the hardware

If you don't use the battery and there is suddenly no power then yes it could "maybe" cause problems.
I like in the UK so I don't really suffer from regular random power outages. Have only had a power outage once when I slept, this reset my alarm and I was late for work, my notebook worked though !
