To repeat what I said earlier. The machine needs proper cleaning maintenance. You risk permanently damaging the mainboard without proper maintenance. Good luck whatever you decide to do or not do including discussing with your parents the need for routine cleaning and re-pasting maintenance by an experienced local laptop specialist in your community.

Benchmarking freeware often don't mean much. Sometimes you get what you pay for them. Seem to have conflicting results on Kingston drive. So other than benchmarking figures, how does the machine perform in graphic intensive apps and gaming?

the performance in games IS HORRIBLE. I don't know why, I played some games when i first got it at like high fps, and now the fps is cut more than half.

I would suggest that you update the ram on this laptop first, as only having 8GB of ram for this laptop makes your laptop perform like it is especially in games! Update the ram to at least 16GB DDR4 2400MHz or DDR4-2666Mhz or even up to 32GB  or 64GB, do the Crucial System Scan to find out the max and compatible ram for this laptop. Upgrade to M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen.3x4 type SSD drives like the Samsung or the WD NS 850 or 750 types. Also install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant and do a scan to give you all the latest Intel drivers and update them! Do the same with your Nvidia GTX1660Ti graphics and download the latest driver version 516.59  WHQL as all this will improve the performance of the GTX-1660Ti in your AN515-54.

Also go to the Nvidia Control Panel > Global Settings > Manage 3D settings have this setting set at "High performance Nvidia processor" also go to "Program Settings" and set all the individual games that you play to the "High performance Nvidia processor, as this should make sure that you are using the Nvidia gpu for all the games. As I can see that you don't have these settings in Nvidia Control Panel as this "User Benchmark" only uses the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 gpu for this test and not the Nvidia gpu. Make sure that you have TRIM enabled within windows as all this will make your laptop perform at its best. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

If it worked before in games, it should work now without overclocking. Are you sure the exact same games (NOT UserBenchmark!!) are less than half FPS NOW than when you first got it? How long ago did you get it?

What you are describing sounds like a internet problem and not a laptop problem

It’s not my internet because i get around 400-500mpbs without ethernet and around 40-80 ping in games, I got this laptop in like August of 2021.

What are processor temps are you seeing when they're being stressed?

well i tried hopping on roblox, which is a quite low end game, and im playing  without my charger, and for some reason im barely getting 30-40 fps, which is very low for a gaming laptop, the one with 60 temp is me playing without charger, and i hopped into a game and it immediately shot up to 50-60 temp. and the 85 temp when im playing with charger for like 1 minute, and getting around 60-70 fps on a low end game. which is really bad.

after only like 5 minutes into the game with my charger it shot up to 94

fps went down to like 40-50 after 10 minutes of playing.

its a cpu based game, and im getting low gpu usage, and not max cpu usage, is that even normal?

Too hot. Have you re-pasted the heatsinks to the CPU and GPU yet? If you're a heavy gamer, this is considered regular maintenance and should be done on a yearly basis since the factory paste tends to dry out and become less effective. You should repaste with Kryonaut or ArcticMX4 which are usually better than factory pastes.

You can reduce performance level but gaming graphics might suffer. You can try to vacuum the air intake ports directly over the fans and blow air into the air exhaust ports to try to loosen and remove any dust or debris that may be preventing good cooling air flow. The laptop isn't broken. But needs some routine maintenance like a car or any other machine to keep it in good working order. A local laptop repair shop might be able to perform this maintenance for a very reasonable price.

well i did some improvements on my own, but not to my drivers or anything like that just the graphics stuff, it's a bit faster and my mininum cpu temp is 55 and maximum is around 88-90 with around 40-60 utiilization, my gpu is 51 to 78  with 40-50 utilization (CPU based game)

It might help but not as good as regular maintenance. Do you at least have a vacuum cleaner to help remove dust buildup inside and improve air flow?
