    Hi,
Go to Computer Management and disable ACC Service under Services, reboot and uninstall current installation from Programs, download a fresh copy from Acer Support centre and install.

How do I get to Computer Management?

Then where do I download ACC from?  That link is for Drivers and Manuals, and the Acer Care Center link on the left doesn't have a download link.

    (1) What is your full model series number? For example SF514-54?
    (2) Meanwhile, you can try the ALT+F10 cold boot reset method instead. Shut laptop off. Turn it back on and immediately press and hold ALT key while tapping F10 key. A menu should appear to allow you to reset the PC.

To get to Computer Management, hit the Windows key to open the Start Menu and type Computer Management, then Enter to open it. On the Drivers and Manuals link choose the Applications tab for apps like Acer Care Center.
Click on "Like" if you find my answer useful or click on "Yes" if it answers your question.

To JackE:  Swift SF515-51T.  And does the cold reboot give me a choice to reset and save files?

Yes, You can choose either an OEM Windows system reset while trying to save your personal files --- or ---- a full erase everything  clean install OEM Windows system reset --- or --- do some troubleshooting --- or ---- attempt to repair the existing system ----- or exit without changing anything if you get nervous. :)
