In windows security are any of these on?
    DeviceGuard
    CredentialGuard
    Windows Defender's Core Isolation

Hyper-V is the usual culprit which causes this ( https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=99390

I searched on the internet that windows 11 home does not come with hyper-v
So on the above article it's saying to disable hyper-v and as I said erlier window 11 home edition doesn't come with hyper-v

I also don't see DeviceGuard and CredentialGurad options.

Please tell me what to do
  • Is hyper-v enabled here?

Yes, as you see the Hyper-V feature isn't available in Windows Home. When I look at the VirtualBox documentation it doesn't show any Windows OS versions newer than 2019 being supported as a host OS. I wonder if they have a reason for not supporting past 2019... Which version of VirtualBox are you running?

Check under the security settings in start -> device security

Core isolation needs to be off, and check controlled folder access under virus and threat protection

odd, is it only ubuntu this happens to? try a differnt iso / hypervisor ( https://www.vmware.com/uk/products/workstation-player/workstation-player-evaluation.html

It may also be worth checking the event log to see whats going on, start -> event viewer -> applications and services -> microsoft -> windows -> hyperv

there will be a lot there, but look for things like service starting, it wont tell us whats doing it , but it may help. Also any third party av?

I just tested it in Windows 11, albeit Windows 11 Pro, and I installed and ran the Desktop version of Ubuntu 20.04 LTS without a hitch using 6.1.34. What parameters are you using to setup the VM?

@farhan_aftab can you post the screenshot of the system information?, especially below the device encryption support. Does it show 4 Hyper-V sections, or a hypervisor is detected?
Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!

I'll try to build a system here with W10 Home on it this weekend to see if VirtualBox acts any different there. I don't want to do it on my Nitro itself since it's running W11 Pro.
