Can’t install any software from Acer in Acer Support Center on my AN515-52-79Y9.

Hello,

I once again downloaded the Nitrosense due to problems launching it after 4 months of not trying (didn’t need the Nitrosense so I didn’t bother).

After downloading, the setup.exe doesn’t start (doesn’t appear any prompt) and this also happens with other programs (Acer Care Center, as an example) downloaded from the Acer website. When I download them (tried with Acer Care Center) from the Microsoft store it installs and opens but does not initiate.

Also tried the “APPXBUNDLE” method and it installs but does not open the program (Nitrosense, Acer Care Center, …). I also have downloaded all in one latest c runtime redist and still doesn’t work.

Do you have any idea or thought of how I can instal these apps and run them? I now have a time to game and the Nitrosense helped with not raising the temperature while gaming.

I’m using an AN515-52 with 19043.1645 build of Windows 10. The MFG date was on May 2018 and my specs are the following:

- Intel® Core™ i7-8750H

- NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050

- 16 GB DDR4

- 256GB SSD (OS)

- 1T HD

 Thank you.

Did you first try to uninstall the old ACER apps on your system? Search Windows start menu for 'nitrosense'. Does it appear near the top of the menu and run? How about searching 'care center'? Does it appear on the menu and run?

    Hello JackE,

I've unnistalled the apps prior to install them again. When searching on the start menu it does not appear anything. Before I unistalled them I tried running with the start menu shortcut but they still won't run. Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thank you.

Has nitrosense or acer care center ever worked on this machine?

Yes they did. I have this computer since January 2020 and have worked with both. Nitrosense used to stop work sometimes, so I was just unnistalling and installing again. Since this January I wasn't using Nitrosense (used in December and before). I tried to run it in this May but, as it didn't run, I unnistalled like previous times but now I can't install it due to the problems that I specified above.

If they're listed in the start menu, what options are presented when right clicking on them?

Note that they only appear on the start menu if I install them through the APPXBUNDLE method. That saying, it appears to fix it on the star menu, then "more" and uninstall. Inside the "more" appears to fix on the task bar, run as administrator, aplication settings, rate and comment, share, remove from this list and clean list.

P.S.- didn't attach a screenshot as my pc isn't in english.

Do run as administrator or app settings respond?

Run as administrator gets the prompt but the installation does not work. App settings do work. By the way, thank you for trying to help.

    >>>Run as administrator gets the prompt but the installation does not work.>>>

Do you mean the app doesn't work, not the installation?

What program are you using to decompress and extract the zipfile download?

It asks me to allow the app to make modifications on the device. When I press yes nothing happens

Maybe if I update my Windows with Windows 11 it will work? I don't have a clue why this is happening.

NO!!!!. Do NOT try to install WIN11!!!

The compressed zip file that you downloaded and double-clicked on does not install nitrosense, it only decompresses it to a nitrosense setup file that is in a Nitrosense folder. You must open this Nitrosense folder. Then double-click on the Setup.EXE file to actually install nitrosense.

Ok, I will not install it.

Yes, I know that. Upon clicking the setup.exe nothing happens. When installing with APPXBUNDLE the app does not start.

Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable' near the top of the next pane. Scroll down and UNcheck box for fast startup if not already unchecked.

Then please post a screenshot of Task Manager Startup tab if possible.

The box for fast startup was on, so I unchecked. I restarted the pc and this is how the Task Manager Startup Tab looks like

    (1) When the ACER boot logo appears, do any other logos  besides ACER also appear on the same screen?
    (2) Can you temporarily disable VPN?

    (1) It appears the spinning dots for a little, under the ACER logo.
    (2) Yes, I've tried before with the VPN disabled. Tried again and didn't work, once again.

The problem is that, when clicking on setup.exe, the mouse has the blue loading symbol for 2/3 seconds and nothing more happens.

Search 'apps & features' in Windows start  menu. Click 'apps & features' near the top of the menu. Scroll down and search for any instances of Nitrosense. Then left click and uninstall.
