Hello,

I recently purchased an Acer Predator Monitor XB240H from Facebook, and when I attempted to link it with my Predator Laptop, there did not appear to be a G-sync option in Nvidia settings, nor did the 144hz option appear. I'm now using an HDMI 2.1 and nothing is functioning; I'm not sure if I should acquire a tiny dp to dp converter because I'm not sure if it would solve both of my difficulties. It also recognises my display as 60hz rather than 144hz.gnises my mon

Sorry, the HDMI port spec shown below suggests only certain monitors will display more than 60Hz or G-syncing. It might be worth trying a minidp-2-dp adapter since they're less than $10usd and might unleash more of the dGPU's capabilities.

With the external monitor disconnected, does tearing still show on the laptop's internal LCD screen?

Gysnc under HDMI is only for HDMI 2.1. I have a feeling the HDMI port on this is 1.4 and its a limited port, as in the service guide it says max of 75hz refresh rate im afraid :(

The laptop's LCD screen panel should not be visibly tearing if the dGPU is being driven correctly. FHD refresh rate should be at least 120Hz. Does Device Manager reveal any red or yellow warnings?

Yes. But at what resolution? You cannot force it to run more than FHD 1920 x 1080.
