XB273K Gpbmiipprzx VESA bracket/adapter purpose

I have the XB273K and it came with a VESA bracket. The monitor itself has a standard 100x100 VESA mounting configuration. I couldn't find any documentation to understand if the adapter that came with it is necessary to use, or I can simply put the monitor on my monitor arm without it. I'm guessing it's mostly for certain mount configurations where you have to have more room around the mount to properly mate to the stand. I'd just like to double check that it's not for some other purpose like safety or perhaps even cooling. Thanks!

Nope, you have it right, it for when the VESA stand doesn't have standoffs to hold it away from the monitor.

Sorry to bring the thread back from the dead, but I need this exact part and cannot find it anywhere.  Anyone know how to get it or a part number?

The Acer part number seems to be 33.TBRM2.005. You can also just use standoffs for your VESA plate.
