How do I reply to an answer to my question?

Yesterday I posted a question about my Acer notebook PC.  Two people answered it.  Thank you for the quick responses.

Now I want to reply to the answers to clarify, but when I click the button to post my second comment, nothing happens.

How do I reply to answers about my original post?

    Hi,
Don't click "Quote" button, reply in the "Leave a Comment" box.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I did not click the "Quote" button.  I typed my response in the "Leave a Comment" box, as you suggested.  Then I clicked "Post Comment", but nothing happened.

Now I will click "Post Comment" for this comment.  Maybe it will work this time.

Looks like it worked that time.  Weird...

I went back to my earlier draft and tried to post it again, but it still won't post.

What's different about the other one? --It's longer and contains a link to another website.

Is there a length restriction here?
Are links to other websites "illegal" here?

    Hi,
Could you please post the link of the other thread, I will reply to it, then you try again to reply.

Great.  Thanks for taking the time to help me figure out what I did wrong.

    Here's the link:

My unposted reply to JackE appears on my screen in the "Leave a Comment" box, but I suspect that no one besides me can see it.

Thanks again for your help.  It appears that both of my suspicions were correct: My original reply to JackE was too long and it contained an external URL that this site flagged as unsafe.

As you probably noticed, I eventually got my reply posted on the other thread by splitting it into three parts and removing the URL.  The moderator supposedly is reviewing my external URL on the second part, so maybe it will be approved later.

It might be useful for this site to list the specs for posters in an FAQ section.  Perhaps there already is one, but I could not find it earlier today.
