I've asked about this before. I was reminded again today when there was a couple bursts of high fan speed.
Checking the COG app: Fan came on temps 29C to 35C. Fan still running temps 28C to 32C. Short burst at high speed, the temps were 28C to 32C.
These temps do not seem so high that the fan needs to run so much.
I checked a review of this chromebook and one of the cons reads: “Firmware issues: The CPU fans randomly speed up to 100% regardless of temperature or usage.”
Is this normal?

>>>Is this normal?>>>Yes, seems like it's fairly normal for the newer CP713 models according to these CP713 users at this link. https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/654851/fan-always-on-acer-chromebook-spin-713-2021-i5-cp713-3w

It's actually pretty normal for most Chromebook designs using this chipset. Not just Acer. Hopefully Google will get their head wrapped around the cooling needs for these and get things to settle down like they did with the previous chipset... Though that took a year or so also.
