I'm new to having a laptop and ever since I received this brand new, after I downloaded chrome, it's lagging then I checked on Task Manager and my chrome is using almost 1GB of ram thats why I wanna upgrade my ram. Any useful tips will be appreciated!

@Senn you can get either 4GB or 8GB DDR4-3200MHz SODIMM Ram stick, any brand is fine as long as it doesn't have XMP.
Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!

    Hi,
You have 8GB onboard memory, you can get another 8GB DDR4 2666Mhz/3200MHz module and install, check the speed of your current module in Task Manager and buy the new module with same speed.

    Hi @Senn,

DDR4 4GB, 8GB and 16GB memory upgrades for your Acer Aspire 5 A515-51G-54RN Laptop to boost performance and capacity.

Look at the ram you have. Match type and speed exactly.

Hey, so can I put 16GB instead of 8GB? Since I've seen most on the PC builds they match the capacity of RAMs.

    Hi,
Yes, you can upgrade up to 20GB(4GB onboard+16GB).

I also want to upgrade the RAM on the official laptop of this model. The second memory bar should match the frequency and timing. Do I understand correctly? For example, if I have CL 16, then I can't use CL 18. If the RAM is from different manufacturers, it doesn't matter?
