Hi everyone, I bought an Acer nitro 5, model AN515-57, 8 days ago.

The main reason to choose this laptop was to use for work (Graphic design and Illustration) and also to play casual games. Tried some of my games and looks amazing, my Adobe programs runs perfectly. All this "try time" was with the laptop plugged in the outlet, so not using the battery.

4 days ago I noticed the issue with the battery when I used it without the plug for the first time: It dischard in 3 hours when I was just watching videos and browsing, while using save mode in the settings and save mode in the Nitro Sense. So I researched this issue here in the community and did the calibration using Acer Care Center, but nothing changed. Yesterday I decided to do a reset in the laptop (using windows option, remove everything with local reinstall), after completing the reset the the battery was showing 6h, I plugged the charger and went to sleep pretty happy thinking that the nightmare was gone.

Today I turned on the computer and since it was plugged in the outlet I didn't tried to use the battery again, went to do some work and watch some videos, that was when another problem showed up: this time was the display, it was showing double vision RGB colours while watching youtube videos, ugly stuff, but netflix was normal. I thought it could be an upgrade from the windows uptade since I forgot to do it last night after the reset, so I checked and installed everything showing there, after restart the laptop the double vision problem disappear, great. But I was still worried about it coming again, and while thinking about this I remembered the battery problem. Decided to test the battery and... It is discharging around 3 hours while again only using the computer to watch netflix (also in power save mode settings and save mode in the Nitro Sense too).

I'm far from being an expert to try to do something more drastic, like going to the BIOs or something like that. What was a very happy purchase is becoming a problem in just over a week... Seriously thinking about returning this laptop if I can't find an easy solution for it in the next few days.

Sounds pretty normal to me. Try disabling, or better yet completely uninstalling, any non-Microsoft virus scanners that might've been bundled with the software package. Windows Defender and Malicious Software Removal tool are all most users need nowadays. Also reduce screen brightness to 50% or less.

@licemilly if the weird color appears again when you watch a Youtube video, try to update the Intel Graphics driver from here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html
The driver from the Windows update is old and causes this video bug.
Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!
