Hello Peeps,

I have been using Acer Nitro 5 (Ryzen 5 3500H + GTX 1650) model.
Even on just game boot up it peaks to 95c. When the game is started it even crosses 100c. Its too much for a laptop to handle and hence it shutsdown.
I saw other branded laptops with same specs that peaks to 82c even on turbo boost. But in Nitro 5 whole scenario is different.
And I'm sure that my fans are cleaned and perfectly optimized. And I tried in debloated windows(designed for gaming) too but same situation.
I have been tweaking with ryzenadj to limit temps to 80c. It works but it drastically reduces the laptop performance by limiting the clock speed which results in less performance.
And there is no voltage control in bios either. Please provide bios with undervolted cpu or do something else.

you can look at the attached screenshot here. And even while browsing it peaks to 90c.

Thankyou.

Thats quite heavy load, is it after gaming or just the desktop?

If the Fans are cleaned it could be the TIM which has worn out, if its in warranty i think acer covers one change of it :)

That 106c took while gaming. Even when the load is 14% the temp is 90c. And I dont think TIM got worn out. Because It was like that since the date of buying.  And some times the temperature will be stabled at 50c when in normal use. Only cpu is borking like this.

@denomparkour67 try to enable CoolBoost so that the fan will run faster in the Auto. You should also get the laptop cleaned and change the thermal paste.

No it's not under Warrenty. And what about bios with undervolted cpu configuration?

I just replaced my thermal paste. With coolermaster mastergel and I see no result. And i cleaned fans too. It's still crossing 100c :(

@denomparkour67 did you also try to take the fans out, clean them and the vents?

Yes I did. And even changed bios to 1.10 version. I read some where that latest version draws more power which results in more heat. And yet still no use.

just set a minimum and maximum for ur processor in ur power option it will be ok if u have still the problem i give u a registry code that u can disable or enable turbo boost that make ur laptop overheat and set the fans at max in nitro sense dont choose high perfomance it make ur cpu 100 % for all the time on pluged in hope this work for u .

    Hi!
I already disabled the turbo boost and changed cpu max usage to 99%.
    Yes temps are under control.
But the games used to give 60fps are giving 27-30fps. It's just not worth doing on low grade CPUs. I don't know why acer is not good in heat management in this variant. I can't even confirm if this is issue for everyone or only for me.

And by the way, during the cleansing of fans, forgot to unplug the battery and a screw fell on a capacitor and it sparked, from then no display. Only keyboard backlit and fans spinning. My laptop is resting dead now.
