My Nitro 5 Model N20C1 battery charge limit does not work. It will limit the charge to 80% for a couple weeks, but then I look, and the battery has charged to 100% without me changing the setting. Can someone help?

Yes this a symptom that happens when the OEM batteries ability to charge deteriorates and loses its charging power fully, this is especially if you your laptop is always pugged into maims power all the time. Unplug the charger and let the laptop get to its lowest power on battery and until you get a warning of low battery charge. Plug the charger into your laptop and fully charge the battery as the windows battery meter will eventually show 100% charge. It’s happened to allot of times, especially with the cheaper replaceable batteries that are widely available on the net.

I did not condition the battery as you explain when I first got the computer, but did so a couple of weeks after that. The battery condition is shown as "good". Someone else on this forum advised me to leave the laptop plugged in all the time, which is why I don't often run the battery down. But I will start doing it again.

    Hi @Scoof,

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option battery.
    4. Under the title battery.
Update Battery Drivers in Windows EASILY - Driver Easy
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.
