Background:
- My laptop is 1 year and 6months old.
- Been using it while plugged in for most of the time.
- No issues the past few years other than sudden blue screens.

Issue:
Just today, my laptop suddenly drained battery while it was plugged in on my extension power supply. It's already on low battery. I noticed my laptop's blue and orange (battery) indicator blinks at the same time while plugged in. It seems like despite being plugged in, it wouldn't charge anymore.

What could be the issue? What does the blinking mean? I tried searching through the user manual, but it doesn't say anything about the indicators.

Do I need to replace my internal battery? Is this an adapter problem?

Note:
1. I'm not an expert in hardware.
2. I cannot run BIOS because the laptop's battery is already drained out.
3. The adapter seems to be working fine but the laptop just doesn't charge.
4. Blue and orange blinks at the same time when it still had charge.
3. Both battery and 💡 indicators blink in orange.
4. Sometimes only the battery blinks in orange.

Would it be possible to use the laptop directly by the power adapter?

Any ideas how much replacement batteries cost?

@NicoDavid both lights blinking means that the adapter is not providing enough power or doesn't work anymore.

    Thank you for this!

I just got back from an Acer Service Center in my area. I told them this, and they said the same thing — that my adapter wasn't functioning properly anymore. We all assumed it was the wire connecting to the adapter housing that was causing the problem since it's usually prone to getting bended.

I got a new adapter now and my laptop's working just fine.

    Thanks @AnhEZ28!

    Hi @NicoDavid,

Did you try to charge it with different charger.

I tried my laptop with another Acer Adapter of the same model and it worked just fine.

So eventually, I bought a new adapter. Must be some kind of issue with my original adapter. Never knew the right reason though.
