Bought an Acer Aspire 5 A515 56T and it has overheated from the start.  Once it overheats it shuts down and it is can take as long as an hour before it will turn on again. I am using a laptop cooler.  Several calls to support with one agent indicating that I should not have more than two programs open at a time!!!! And another with the recommendation that you never leave the laptop on standby/hibernate for longer than 15 minutes - that you need to shut it down completely if you are not using it for more than 15 minutes??????

No help from customer service.
Acer should be sending a new replacement if they stood behind their product.

    Hi @VV55,

Overheating of Acer Aspire 5 usually happens if the fan or the heat sink is blocked with dirt and dust. It is best to vacuum the laptop through the vents so that the dirt and dust are sucked out. If overheating persist, it's best to open the back cover and clean them.
