hi,
i bought an acer swift 5 in 2018 and I am facing some problem with it.
The screen starts flickering and eventually goes grey.
the audio is working but the screen becomes permanently grey and I am unable to use it. So i have to power off my laptop my pressing the button for about 7 seconds.
This has happened repeatedly and I need to repair this uregently.
Any help is highly appreciated

thanks
P.S: have a look at the picture on what happens to the screen

That is a weird one. Does it change if you move the screen open and closed a bit?

    hi,
yes...when i move my screen a bit there it flickers and grey lines appear horizontally and then disappear.(this happens when i do it at normal times when the screen is not fully grey)....but when the screen is completely grey like the above picture, then nothing happens to it when i move apart from flickering at a higher rate)

My guess is the eDP cable that runs between the motherboard and screen, through the hinge area, has some cracking in the wires. If you are still in warranty now would be a great time to contact Acer support to get an RMA started so they can fix it. If you are out of warranty then do you feel comfortable tearing it all the way down, or would it be better taken to a technician?

    Hi hmn:
Question: How did you solve you strange blurry screen of 2020 ?
Last night, out of the blue, my 3-month old Spin 5 developed the problem real fast. No funny business; just watching Youtube and not charging it. Didn't even give me a hint.
I thought it was a graphics card virus.
I'm gonna start the ACER Warranty process tomorrow.
Meanwhile, I'm browsing for info, backing up data, and preping to restore it to original status.
    Thanks for any advice.
