Old wifi antenna snapped so I had to get new ones. installed them but attached them where the second hard drive would go I dont know what its called but the disc drive looking thing that slides out is where I left it. Should I have attached it on the bottom cover instead so its facing upwards? Need help asap.

A phone photo might help. The most important thing is that the two antenna coax wires (A) are connected to the wifi card.

That is correct. It doesn't matter how the coax wire is routed so that's not the reason for the slow speed. So try the following.(1) Open Device Manager(2) Click network adapters folder(3) Right click properties on wlan card(4) Click advanced tab(5) Click preferred band(6) Change none to 5GHzIf it doesn't speed up, change preferred 5GHz band to 2.4GHz band

The coax cable is shielded so it should not matter how it is routed to the antenna. The antenna itself is actually located in the back of the screen lid.Sounds to me more like a cable break inside the hinge area or the antenna itself in the screen lid. The usual break happens inside the hinge due to wear and tear of opening and closing the lid too much over time.

Sorry, that is not the original antenna assembly part no 50.MVHN7.005 . Where did you place the two antenna radiator elements? These cannot be anywhere near a grounded metal component in the main case and should be near-vertically polarized in the lid when it's opened Again, a phone photo of your installation might help.

Sorry. Then the radio signals will remain weak because they are blocked by the keyboard & bottom cover grounds. The antenna radiator elements must be located behind the lid screen as shown below. If you don't want to do this through the hinge areas, then you migght be to move the radiators outside of the case. Perhaps paste them on the back side of the lid cover. The small coax wires can probably then be fed through a small case openings such as fan vents, speaker openings or near the external ports instead of through the hinge area.

They're inconsisent because the antenna elements are located in the wrong place. Temporarily move the radiator elements outside the case. Just lay them alongside the laptop for now and see what happens to the speed tests.
