Acer can't validate my serial number AN517-54

bought my Acer AN517-54 gaming laptop a week ago and I now need help, but Acer's website does not recognize my SN or SNID.

I click on a link to Ask a Question, and get a text box prompting me for SN or SNID. I type in first one and then the other, each time getting the message:

"The serial number you have entered, xxxxxxxxxxx, does not appear to be valid. Please check the serial number, and try again" (x's replace my SNID). I've triple-checked both numbers. I even downloaded Acer's "auto-detect" tool and pasted the SN and then SNID into their page. Each time, Acer's website does not recognize the number as valid.

Then, I thought I might need to register. Duh! I click on a link to register my number, but in the Register Your System popup, I'm prompted to enter my SNID and to click "Lookup."

When I click on the button, I get the error message,

"That does not appear to be a valid serial number. Please check the serial number on your computer and try again. If the serial number is valid and you are still unable to register, please Contact Us."

Well, guess what! Clicking on "Contact Us" does no good, because it requires me to validate my SNID before I can do the Contacting!!! This Catch-22 loop will certainly keep the Support staff happy and bother-free. No pesky customers bothering them. So, how do you get past this wall?

Me too.  Never had a problem before accessing Acer support using my SNID or SN.  I'd lie to reinstall Acer Care also!

There can be problems if you try to register from the wrong Acer site, for instance trying to register a UK model on the USA site doesn't work. You might also be typing in the number wrong, O and 0 are different, same with l and 1. I take a picture of the number then zoom it up larger to make sure I'm entering it right.
You can select the correct region from this link, https://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/ or you can contact Acer support and they will help you register your product.

Thanks for the replies , but I have lived in the same place for ~35 years and all computers were bought in this Zip code and I tried to access Acer.com from the same location.  Acer.com finally recogized my laptop after repeated tries so maybe there were birds on the wires .  ;-)
That problem resolved itself but now I am having other problems.  But I'll work thru them 1 at a time.   Thx again

So I tried last night again and it worked in any region of the acer but I couldn't still register it with them.it just keep buffering for ever. But at least they fix the findings the serial number so far.
And I couldn't put any number wrong because I use acer serial number finder and just copy and past it in Web site

It's November 2024 and I'm having the same issue as you had. I'm in the correct Acer region as when I registered other Chromebooks but no luck… I am stuck in the catch 22 you mentioned.. I tried to use the Contact Us but ……it won't accept my numbers. Is there a solution or at least a bug ticket being worked on….What do we do ? Something doesn't want me to buy an after care policy….
