Just bought my first ACER monitor G206HL. Tried several ways to gently push the two piece stand on the monitor. Does  not lock in to place and feels unsecure. Any suggestions. I called tech support, they suggested I call a local tech service, when I asked him for a number he advised me to check with my neighbor!!!

Is the neck connected securely to the monitor?

When you connect the base to the neck, are you tightening the base down with the central screw (turning clockwise)?

No if I was able to secure the neck then it would not be loose. Very hard to try to fasten the neck to the monitor. I put all my weight on it and still would not snap on. Afraid with any more pressure it will break!

You'll note that you do not mention specifically which piece you were having difficulty with in your first post, thus the question.

The fit of some neck pieces is quite tight and does take some force for insertion.

I'm unable to tell you exactly how much force to use.

If you feel that exerting any additional force on the neck would result in breakage, I would stop attempting.

If you have someone else who is comfortable with assembly, you may wish to consult them.

I have the same problem with my new Acer monitor.  I'm returning it to the store.  If they can't get that piece in, I will return the monitor and get some other brand.

I just purchased an Acer Monitor and I'm having the exact same problem. I would love to have a solution to this, because I really like the monitor.

Hey, I recently purchased s230hl monitor and the stand connection was loose. So, after registering, logging and such; here I am with a SOLUTION!

I tried pushing the stand pillar onto the monitor several times. It seemed something wasn't letting the metal  flat 'shaft' lock into the plastic sleeve on the monitor. So, I saw that the metal shaft has a lip where it should ride over a platic bump on the monitor (sorry it so hard to use words for what I did). With some wiggling and pressure, it finally snapped into place!

Looks like a design defect. Anyway, hopes this helps the next person searching this site.
