Acer Aspire E1-531 upgrade

Hi,
You have the maximum memory installed in your model, you can not upgrade to 16GB, as for the CPU upgrade, you are not going to see any noticeable difference by upgrading CPU but if you replace the HDD with a 2.5" SSD it will improve the performance immensely, you may be able to upgrade to a i7-2620M, avoid buying any CPUs with TDP of 45W.

I am not sure about the link but Acer recommends 8GB as the maximum memory for this model and Crucial also says 8GB as the maximum memory, as for the Windows 11 installation, the CPU upgrade won't be useful because you need 8th Generation CPU or newer and TPM enabled for the Windows 11 to work.

Yes, if they confirmed that your model support 16GB, you can install 16GB, unfortunately, there are no Windows 11 compatible CPUs for your model, you might be able to install Windows 10 but not guaranteed to work, worth a shot but make sure you backup your data before trying.

Yes, i7-2620M should be fine but remember any upgrade is experimental and it's hard to confirm it will definitely work because no personal experience or haven't seen anyone done the upgrade, anyway, good luck with your upgrade.

Yes, it was my mistake, i7-2620m has 35W and i7-2760QM has 45W, I think i7-2760QM may not work.
