Hi, I have an acer aspire E1-531 pc with processor intel B960, 2.2 Ghz, 2MB L3 Cache
I have already upgraded to 8 GB RAM but I find on this site that an upgrade of 16 GB is also proposed, is it supported?
As for the cpu, is it soldered or can it be disassembled and upgraded, with which processor?0

Hi,
You have the maximum memory installed in your model, you can not upgrade to 16GB, as for the CPU upgrade, you are not going to see any noticeable difference by upgrading CPU but if you replace the HDD with a 2.5" SSD it will improve the performance immensely, you may be able to upgrade to a i7-2620M, avoid buying any CPUs with TDP of 45W.
These CPUs may work but you have to try them at your own risk, also please read these threads for more information:

Hi, I already have SSD, so the link I sent you where they recommend 2 banks of 8GB RAM is wrong information?
Speed aside, updating with an intel core i7 would be fine so I could install windows 11 right?

Hi yes i know crucial and acer say 8 is max but i wrote to that site and they let me run raminator and sent them the report, they tell me 16 ram is supported.
Would windows 10 be installed with the Intel i7 2620M processor?
Alternatively isn't there another i7 or i5 or i3 cpu that could support windows 11?
Thank you.

If no cpu supports windows11 then at this point I would choose to mount an i7, the intel core i7 2620M cpu so let's say the most powerful that if you can mount it without risking too many problems? My motherboard is Acer EA50_HC_HR (U3E1)However with the upgrade of the cpu, ram 16 GB and ssd that I already have, I would be happy already.

Of course this is clear, I think I will try :-)
If all goes well, well, otherwise, patience

Is this the processor we're talking about right?

Sorry, a doubt, so is my motherboard socket compatible with i7-2620M ?, basically this processor is the same size as the one it is now?

In the intel site it says that i72620M has 2 cores while in the site where it makes the comparison it says that it has 4 cores, who gives the numbers?

I saw now in the comparison it is not i7-2620M but Intel Core i7-2760QM, so do you think it is better to put this instead of i7-2620M?

Ok, the problem you pointed out to me was the right TDP? In this Intel Core i7-2760QM processor the TDP can be set to both 35 and 45, is it possible?

The TDP seems to be adjustable, at least from what the site where the comparison says, then there is another aspect, I think it is not compatible with the socket of my motherboard, if so, the less risky choice is the i7- 2620M
