Hi, i upgrating and old acer that i haven't use for many years. I boght the toppest processor that can fit the socket and install it. The laptops start 3 o 5 second and the turn off. I have tried unplug the batttery, remove all components, set bios to unsecure and not fast load. The last matter i can check is upgrade Bios, how ever, in the sopport page of Acer, for Acer Aspire 4349 dosent upgrade the Bios Firmware since 10 years ago. Can you upload a bios that support core i5 or indicate wich Bios of any other acer can fit this model?

What CPUs are you trying replace & use? The same generation CPU should be used for both. For example, an i5-2450m shoiuld be able to replace an i3-2350m  But a later generation i5-3350m probably won't work even if the socket is the same..The BIOS firmware has nothing to do with this. The mainboard hardware buss system is the key factor.

That is a 35w processor so not too bad. Uses DDR3 800/106 memory, BGA1288, PGA988 socket. See here.

The highest spec CPU fitted by Acer for your Aspire 4349 is the Pentium Dual-Core B960 Socket G2 (see the link for all compatible CPU's for your laptop) the Core i5-560M is not compatible with your laptop as its a socket BGA1288, how did you get  that into its socket? As you must have damaged the CPU socket to do that!

If you haven't done any damage then I would go as high as the Socket G2 Core i7-2860QM 4 core 8 threads 2.3 to 3.6GHz, also you need to upgrade the BIOS to the last version that Acer has, run a 2.5" SSD SATA3 6GB/sec drive and have 2x 4GB DDR3-1333 or even DDR3-1600MHz SODIMM RAM (run the Crucial System Scanner to see what is compatible?also update all the Intel drivers like chipset, graphics etc with the Intel Driver & Support Assistant software. If all that dosent wotk then it must be an internal problem that needs analysing if its been left unused for a long period of time.

The B815 is actually newer than the 560m. The B815 can use higher speed RAM than the 560m. So I doubt a noticeable performance difference between the two cpus. If it was mine, changing the cpu would not be worth inherent risk of damaging the mainboard when doing so.
