wireless connectivity with Aspire notebook 5515

Hello to all:  My aspire is several years old-never had a problem connecting to any wireless system, whether at home (verizon wireless router), Aruba (SETARNET),  Atlantic City (Harrah's) etc. Tried to log on today and no connection.  Equipped with Realtek PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC and MacBridge Miniport. Operating system-Vista.  Checking device managers page says both devices are working properly.  When I slide the on/off switch for wireless operation, I get a "no wireless device" on my screen.  Am I missing something here?  Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanx-DanZ

Hello to all: Since the last post, I connected to the internet using an ethernet cable from  the router and updated my Vista. Also received updated drivers for the Realtek PCI-E and Mac Bridge miniport. Device driver page says both devices are working properly.  When I click "set up a wireless connection" I get a "no wireless device" prompt.  When I slide the on/off switch on the front of the laptop, I also get a "no wireless device" prompt.  Any suggestions at this point would be appreciated.  Thanx, DanZ
