I don't know how to fix.  I plugged in external keyboard in order to type.  When I go into Device Mgr, Keyboards I see are HID Keyboard and Standard PS/2 Keyboard.  I don't know which keyboard is my external and which is my internal keyboard and how to fix the issue.  All was working well until I cleaned my keyboard and prob punching some wrong keys bec I didn't turn off my laptop until mid way.

Thanks for the info but I have Aspire 5...guess I will just use the unlighted external keyboard which is a pain but at least it works.

Try both keyboards first if their keys are giving you faulty characters? As that is how you will be able to know? As both keyboards the internal Nitro 5 and external keyboards should work together, as when you connect an external keyboard to a laptop both should work. I’m using an external keyboard the Cooler Master Devastator 3 Keyboard & Mouse and it works 100% without any key errors on my latest Nitro 5 - i7-11800H and RTX-3070 without any errors. It could be that you have damaged the external keyboard while cleaning it and pressed its keys so hard that its damaged its keys. Check all that out as software very rarely goes wrong with these sorts of problems as its always hardware.

Aha...the external keyboard works but then when I try the keyboard on the laptop I get the faulty keys.  I used this spray cleaning product which said safe for electronics which includes monitors, keyboards, tvs, etc...all worked fine until I used.  It' s upsetting to think I damaged the keyboard on the laptop due to this spray.  If spray got into the keys it would have dried by now so I guess I can no longer use the keyboard that is on the laptop.

What is your Nitro 5 exact model number? As you can change your keyboard on your Nitro 5 if you are computer savvy and are willing to attempt this job, don’t do it if its under warranty still. As you can get these keyboards online but you need the exact part number that you have on your keyboard laptop and then look it up on the web, as these keyboards are illuminated and are a special keyboard.
