Touchpad Settings are Gone: Mouse Does Not Work - Nitro 5 AN515 53

This seems to be an issue a lot of people are having, but most solutions I've found are not working for me.

I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515 53 Intel CORE i5 8th Gen gaming laptop. A little old, but still mostly works fine. About a month ago, out of nowhere, the touchpad mouse stopped working. Restarting the computer worked the first few times, but every time the mouse cursor would vanish after about an hour or two. Now, restarting the computer does nothing to fix it. The computer still works with a USB mouse.

I've checked both the Settings menu and Device manager. Any touchpad settings have disappeared. All that is left are setting for the USB mouse.

I've tried the whole FN + F6 or F& thing, I've tried updating drivers (My computer says all drivers are up to date), and Google and YouTube tutorials have provided little help.

This has never happened to me before, it just appeared out of nowhere while I was taking a test on a website I've used for school time and time again with no problems. And as far as I know, I did not download any weird software prior to this or visit a website that would cause a problem.

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hi @LuvJoy,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.

You must install the "Intel IO Drivers" first then install the Touchpad Driver.

    Hope it helps.
