I am trying to re-install Windows 8 from a Flashdrive on my Alienware X51 desktop. When i boot my computer it takes me to the Windows 8 setup screen to start to re-install Windows 8. But there is a slight problem. The font in the Acer screen is too large and i cannot accept the terms in the agreement section to get to the next step to continue the install ., I pressed enter and escape and nothing. The representative that i was talking to (who was helping me install Windows 8) told me there was a way to change the screen resolution on my Acer Monitor but i cannot find out how. I can't get on my desktop until i install Windows 8 so i cannot change the resolution there. The Acer monitor has 6 buttons on the bottom 1. Power 2. <> 3. Menu/Enter 4. Auto/Exit 5. Empowering Key and 6. Off. None of them have anything to do with changing the resolution. Can someone help me with this problem

well I dont use monitors so I cant say for absolute certainty I never heard of adjusting the resolution on the monitor itself.. It was always done in Windows Graphics Control panel..

Perhaps if you say your Model number of this moniotr we can look in the manual.. Also perhas you have a resync button on it which will auto resize the screen..

I called a friend of mine to help me and somehow he connected my desktop to my Samsung TV and i was able to get past installing Windows 8.   But it did me no good because when i turn on my computer, it just takes me back to a black screen.  I called the technician and he said i need to replace the video card Smiley Sad        Yeh, i thought it was strange that the tech told me i could change the resolution on the monitor.  He told me he would wait while i did it, so after 15 minutes of an endless loop with my monitor i told him i would call him back.  But thank you for taking the time to answer.    I would have to say it has been resolved
