Acer Predator PT516-51s Performance Results - UserBenchmark
Hi,You have a PCIe 3 motherboard, you can use a M.2 Gen3 NVMe SSD but Gen4 SSD also will work because they are backward compatible and will run at Gen 3 speeds.https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/44635146
AS mentioned above yes I have the PO3-600 with a Crucial P2000 2TB runs great! However, today I have been trying to put the PNY XLR8 Nvme Gen 4x4 (cs3140 with Heatsink) swapping them out and having some issues. Disk Management not recognizing. Any suggestions or insight on things to check would be appriciated. :)
Does it show up in BIOS? Will you be able to remove the Heatsink?
@DougB76 since you have a different model computer than this thread is for, you should start a new thread with your question. Include the full model number (PO3-600-xxxx), the issue you are seeing and what you have tried so far. The PCIe 4.0 SSD should be backwards compatible with your PCIe 3.0 bus, but it's possible PNY is breaking the rules... I have to ask, why did you buy that drive, knowing you would be running it slower than it's best speed? Was it a real cheap deal maybe?
