My Acer Chromebook Spin 713 has had problems with games and apps crashing. Any ideas?

I have made a post on a similar support center, so I will just copy and paste the issue here. My brother and I recently got Chromebooks for Christmas and we both have been experiencing issues with games crashing (when my brother and I got the new Chromebooks and signed in, the things we had downloaded on the older models just automatically downloaded.)  I tried experimenting with a few games on the new Chromebook and the old one but the games still work on the old Chromebook. It also is not a wifi issue because the games still work well for the most part on the old models. I have checked my play store for updates (there are none) and I have restarted the Chromebook multiple times and nothing has worked. Any ideas?

Which games specifically, and which version of the ChromeOS is on each machine?

I haven't tried too many because it is fairly new, but for some examples, Drive Ahead, Rocket League Sideswipe, and Idle heroes to name a few. My brother also has trouble with Roblox and some apps he uses to make designs. For the new Chromebook, I am currently on 97.0.4692.91 and it says that I have no more updates possible. My old Chromebook is currently updating and is on 97.0.4692.77

Does the old one have similar issues now that it has been upgraded to the same OS version?

    Hi @Icey0007,

Why do games keep crashing on Chromebook?
If Google Play Store keeps crashing on your Chromebook after closing other apps, clearing its cache data might fix the problem. Head to Settings > Apps > Manage your apps > Play Store > More settings and permissions > Storage & cache and tap Clear cache. Open the app and check if it now works without issues.
