After installing Win 10 on my A114-31 laptop I find the screen brightness control does not work. The brightness slider shows on the screen and can be adjusted using the Fn and brightness icon keys but there is no change in screen brightness. The display field has been opened with device manager and when attempting to re-install a driver, windows reports that "best driver is already installed". The next attempt at a solution is to download the Acer VGA driver for this laptop and install it. Is the the best route to take?

Hi JackE. The  Acer driver was downloaded and extracted to a folder. The Display Adapter was highlighted in Device Manager and then the driver tab was highlighted. "Update Driver" was selected and an update started. This was completed without any upset and the brightness works as it should. Thanks for your help.

Yes. Try the ACER driver first. If no change, then download and install DriverBooster or DriverPack freeware tools to see if they can pick up anything better on line.
