Acer D255E cpu upgrade?

I was just wondering if my old D255E Acer laptop with Atom N455 CPU can be upgraded? Thank you if anyone answers this!

    Also if the CPU can be upgraded, which CPU would be compatible with the laptop?

    Not really, be better off buying a new computer.

    I would agree with @padgett. If involving a new CPU, it is just not worth it doing something to this slow machine.

    At USD $300+, you can get one decent new PC using the current technologies.

    Oh, I  suggest you to upgrade the HDD to a 2.5" SATA3 SSD, it is three times faster than the spinning HDD. Try this upgrade and clone ( or do a fresh installation) the OS to the new SSD, maybe you will find the performance more acceptable, like a new life of the netbook. 

     Even if you decide to buy  a modern laptop later, you still can move it there for future use, no waste.
