SW05-12 - Reverting back to Windows 8.1 from Windows 10 - Installation Key

I have a Sw05-12 which I bought from new with W8.1.  Like everyone else I upgraded to W10 and lost some functionality - touchscreen was intermittent and the bluetooth dropped out.
Subsequent updates mean I now now longer have: any touchscreen functionality, no audio driver, no bluetooth and no battery indicator.
Advice from Acer is to revert back to W8.1 which I  kind of know how to do but I don't have the W8.1 installation key which I understand is essential.
Anyone help please?

@MikeB9 the Windows 8.1 key is embedded in the BIOS. It will automatically activate itself if there is a internet connection.

Hi AnhEZ28 - So if I download W8.1 onto a flash drive and install from start up the key is only required after installation?
Can I get online without the key?

Hi both - Have downloaded W8.1 ISO from MS website onto a flash drive and attempting to install.  Product key is required and I can't pass this step. Any ideas please?

Need some help please!  Latest update is that the product key works AOK however I cannot get past accepting the EULA without receiving an installation message saying <SOMETHING HAPPENED - System cannot determine installation choices>.
MSoft tech support says the BIOS on the notebook is too old and must be updated by Acer.  Acer says this is a chargeable task as the warranty's expired.  I cannot believe that I'm the only customer / user that has has problems updating from win8.1 to win10.

    Any thoughts anyone please?

When the installer gets to the screen asking which partition to use, what are you doing? To be successful with the small drives they put in those systems you will likely have to manually delete each partition on the drive, then install to the unallocated space. Needless to say you will want to have your data backed up first and a list of the applications you are going to have to reinstall...

Thanks for the response. I haven't seen this question regarding partitions. The installation files are on a USB via Rufus.  I run the .exe command from the USB and win8 starts to prepare. I then get asked for a product key which I enter and is accepted, then I move to the EULA acceptance stage. I accept the T&C's then get the failure message.
