Change HDD to SSD on sf315-52g / Only SATA

Hello,
I have a 2019 Acer SWIFT 3 SF315-52G.This laptop has 2 Hard Disks.
One SATA (932Go)
One SSD SATA (119Go)
Unfortunately the  HDD SATA (932 Go) appears with the tag "in danger, warning "
The SSD SATA has the green  tag (seems OK)

The problem is that I can't Activate the memory intel Optane , the system saying that no Memory Intel optane was detected.
At that point , there is an option "hide the SMART event" , which,  once activate erase all the bad tags with a warning information, so the system looks like it is working well. (but it's not)
Questions:
Is the problem really  the  SATA (932Go) ?
Do I have a problem with my SSD SATA (119Go)?
Is it dangerous to use my laptop without the activation of the Intel  Optane Memory?
Can I check the  intel Optane memory(I guess is the SSD SATA (119Go))
Would it be possible to swap the 2 current HD for  one NVMe M.2, 500 Go  (using the slot of the intel Optane memory)
If the new NVMe M.2, 500 Go was cloned with the SATA (932Go) , would the system start?

It seems that , the previous option is the only one possible , swapping only the HDD for a SSD SATA doesn't work at all for this laptop (according to some posts from the Acer community)

Thanks for your help

@Kaouki what software that you checked for the HDD's health?
If that software tells you that the HDD has SMART warning, you should consider backing up the data on that HDD and replace with a new one. You can also replace with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD.

If you want to upgrade to a NVMe SSD, you need to backup OS and data on the M.2 SATA SSD. Take that M.2 SATA SSD out and replace with the new NVMe SSD.

Intel Memory Optane looks like M.2 SSD but has small capacity (usually 16GB). It is usually optional and not installed in the your laptop because slot has been taken by the M.2 SATA SSD (I assume). It is okay for not having it. It only uses for speeding up HDD that has OS installed on it.

Your SSD (128GB) is on the M.2 slot, so there isn't an Optane module present. Your description sure sounds like the HDD is failing so you should plan on getting it replaced. Prices are low enough on SSDs that I'd replace the 1TB HDD with a 1TB SSD. Speeding up the existing SSD by replacing it with an NVMe x4 drive is possible, but should be done separately, and there I'd replace it with a 512GB drive...

I didn't check my HDD health, I just got the information from the system (intel) with a red tag on the HDD.
Do you have a software in mind to double check that information from the Laptop.

When I first got the problem, I thought it was "as usual " easy to swap the HHD (1TB) for a 1TB SSD . Then I check on the "Acer community" topics about my computer (SWIFT 3 SF315-52G) and how to deal with the 2 HD when you want to replace the HHD.

    I found this question: "

"Change HDD to SSD on sf315-52g"

    and this answer from Manfred28Manfred28

"The 1TB 970 EVO will work, for sure. I had exactly the same problem with my newly purchased SF315-52G. Swapping
the original 256GB M.2 SSD against any M.2 SATA SSD failed, Samsung 860 EVO, Crucial MX500, WD Green SSD, none
of them worked, always freeze at the bios logo.

I havnt figured out why, but the Swift 3 doesnt like SATA SSDs. But you can use any NVME SSD, Samsung 970 EVO,
Crucial P1, etc. will work, regardless of the size."

Considering that information, just buying a new SSD to replace the defective HDD could be another pb to deal with .

    Thanks for your help

Confirmation, my HDD is dead, so now I just would like to know if somebody already change the HDD with a SSD on this computer: Acer SWIFT 3 SF315-52G

So which SSD 1TB is working....
    Thanks

@Kaouki since that HDD has failed, you can replace it with another HDD or 2.5inch SSD

Any of the 2.5" SATA SSDs will work, the message you refer to was talking about the drive in a M.2 slot. The slot is really designed for an NVMe x4 drive and the user was having troubles putting a SATA drive in instead. Your M.2 slot already has an NVMe drive in it.

    Are you sure about that?
    Did you test that?
I am living overseas with a difficult delivery process, so I would be in big trouble if my new SSD isn't working.
    Thanks

Yes, only very old 2.5" drives can have troubles fitting into a modern computer. They were potentially too thick to physically fit. Any HDD you purchase new will fit fine and work. And 2.5" SSD will also work, since there have never been ones that are too thick.
