Battery not charging when plugged in Acer Swift SF143-56

Hey guys,
I got an Acer Swift (SF143-56) which was bought in Sept 2019.

Without warning the battery died and is not recognized by windows. The icon in the symbol bar stays at zero percent and is not charging at all. Acer Care Center tells me every thing is fine with the battery (hehe)

I've tried a battery reset, reboots, a BIOS reset (funny, cause impossible with a battery charge below 25 %) HWinfo shows "Critical Discharging On AC Power" and a high wear lvl at 43%.

Anyone got an idea? I suspect the charging controller of the mainboard. And actually, I'm suspecting planned obsolescence of the device. It is only 2 years old...

    Have you tried uninstalling the battery drivers from device manager. If not, Please try it and check..

    Are you getting any light indication when charger is connected.

    1. Shutdown the unit.
    2. Unplug the cables connected to the unit.
    3. At bottom of the unit there will be a small tiny pin hole with a battery symbol close to it. Take a pin or a paper clip insert into it you feels like pressing a button hold it for 20-30 seconds. ​

    Also try a full factory reset 
    1. In the search box on your laptop, type Recovery, then click Acer Recovery Management.
    2. Click Recovery Management.
    3. In Acer Care Center, click Get started next to Reset your PC.
    4. Click Remove everything.
    5. Click Just remove my files or Remove files and clean the drive depending on your needs.
    6. Click Reset.

    Are you sure the model number isn't a SF314-56? I don't see the other model in my lists... As suggested above a battery reset (use the full procedure, not the abbreviated one Erick shows, you want to wait at least 15 minutes after releasing the button before plugging the charge in, and want to wait for a full battery indication before turning it back on or else the internal numbers won't get completely reset. Follow that with a few windows battery calibrations (run on battery until Windows decides the battery is too low, then charge fully while it's off before booting back up. Both Windows and the batteries tend to get corrupted numbers over time but you can usually get it back to somewhat normal.

    I've tried all recommended steps. It is not a software issue. The charging LED is off for good.

    Thanks to planned product obsolence, this device is not a portable device anymore.

    Have you verified the charger is working? If the charge light doesn't come on it's much more likely to be the charger that has failed rather than the battery.

    I only have one charger but the charger powers the notebook normally. So I can detach the battery and use the notebook. Without a plugged charger the laptop does not boot at all
