Some model is installed with 1TB HDD, so you can use any SATA HDD. The HDD upgrade kit is usually in the box or you can get it online.
Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!

The usual upgrade would be to an SSD, not another HDD since this model often ships with up to a 2TB 2.5" HDD depending on who you buy it from. Or it may ship with a much faster but smaller m.2 SSD card. For vendors who only supply the m.2 card and no 2.5" drive components, all that's really needed is a ribbon cable part no. 50.HGLN7.003 that used on many ACER differenct laptop model sold by many vendors for under $15. The drive itself can be immobilized and protected inside the case by using simple foam padding. No brackets or screws needed.

The one I have shipped with a 256GB M.2 SSD and no HDD Upgrade kit, but thanks for supplying the part number for the ribbon. Where can I buy said ribbon cable?

Simply google the part  no. "50.HGLN7.003" for vendors who ship to your location. About $15USD. It fits many different A3 & A5 models. Very common and widely available laptop HDD ribbon cable.

    Hello,

I've recently upgraded my laptop with more RAM.

I am looking for a way to increase the disks size, and have spare SSD to perform this.

My laptop model is the Acer Aspire 3 A315-55G.

I have seen that the laptop has a 12 pin connector on the motherboard near the wireless/bluetooth adapter.

    Can you please advice:

    1. If I should have asked this in another thread? (I don't usually bump other people's threads but, the acer community suggests to search the forum database for solutions that might already work, so this is why I've 'hijacked' this thread and apologize if it isn't the best way, and kindly ask to move this question to some other thread or notice me to do so, if necessary).

    2. (The question itself): Would this "50.HGLN7.003" part number be suitable for my model as well?

    Thank you beforehand!

    Cheers!

Thanks for reporting back. Yes, the 2.5" HDD/SSD cable part no. is 50.HGLN7.003 for the A315-57G

Hi, I'm the one who should be thankful!!

So, can you please confirm what you have stated?

I believe you intended to refer to the model A315-55G, but you have written A315-57G, is this what you actually intended (to write 57G instead of 55G)?

Sorry for this questioning, but since I was going to order it online, and constraints such as the budgetary and logistics do apply, I am insisting. I hope you are alright with this message of mine.

So I'll wait for your clarification and take my leave until then!

    Thank you!

    Cheers!

Sorry. Referenced the OP's original title 57G machine. This might be an issue if we're not all on the same page talking about the same model. :) But in this case, no issue. Cuz the 55G & 57G use the same part  no 50.HGLN7.003  =)
