I bought this band-new laptop from Walmart Canada. I used it for browsing and typing, no gaming. I didn't do any updates for operating system and drivers.
However i found the cooling fan does not work. I can see it. The fan do not spin. I downloaded AIDA64  and do SYSTEM STABILITY TEST wit it.
The CPU temperature  has reached 95C. The fan doesn't work.

I don't think there is hardware problem with the fan. The fan works when i turn on the laptop.

Could someone have any solution for this problem?

Don’t open and/or do anything to your Swift SF314-42 laptop! Send the laptop back under warranty and let Acer fix it up for you! Tell Acer the same as you have outlined in this post, as the fan should be working at different rpms for different temps that your laptop reaches especially if its at 95˚C as the fan should be spinning in its normal mode at 3600rpm, while in silent mode at 95˚C the fans should be spinning at 3300rpm. The only time that the fans are not spinning on the Swift SF314-42 is when the CPU temps are below 55 ˚C when the fan is turned off automatically. If temps get above 105 ˚C your laptop will shut down as a precautionary high temp safety but, your Swift should NOT be running at such high temps without the fan spinning as allowing this to continue will damage your laptop and its components longevity.

  • If the fan works when turning on the laptop and doesn't work when accessing windows, try resetting the battery:
I also advise checking the bios version.

How hot does it get? Are you running one of the utilities to monitor CPU temperatures? Often on laptops to keep the noise level down they don't run the fan until it's actually needed for cooling.

I run AIDI64 and did stability test. The CPU's temperature reached 95C, but fan didn't spin.

If the temperature is getting to 95, then the sensor is working. If it were not you would either be seeing really weird temperatures (like -1C or 255C) or no reading at all. You could try reflashing the BIOS with the current version, but more likely there is an issue with the fan or MB. If that's the case and it's been a short enough time, swap it with your vendor and let them handle the warranty stuff. If it's been too long contact Acer support to get a ticket started.
