Aspire 7 A715-75G no airflow (out-take) from rear vents

Back when i bought this laptop (around january-february this year) i remember the rear vents pushing out hot air from the back (and side, that still works) and keeping the laptop cool pretty effectively under high load. fast forward 4 months, laptop's motherboard fried which was ruled out as manufacturing defect and I got it repaired under warranty. i didnt really notice it for some time afterwards, but a few months later it started being more obvious that the rear vents were not pushing out air and laptop started to thermal throttle rather quickly.

i'd also like to state that i keep my laptop in an elevated position and there's enough free space all around it so there's no lack of airflow and both fans are working properly, dust has been taken care of too.

i tried putting my hand near the rear vents during high load to check if there was any airflow, but came up empty. only a little amount of heat which seemed to be coming from the copper fins acting like a passive cooler. so is this an issue caused by the guys over at the service center? or is this a software issue by chance because it's not like my laptop is shutting down due to excess heat, just thermal throttling way quicker than it used to before.

    @rayjynx take it back to that warranty center and explain the situation that you are facing. Most likely that the inner vent is blocked by dust or something, fans might not aligned correctly.

    yea i plan on doing that tomorrow, will update.

    update: the plan got a bit delayed and i could only manage to go today. turns out it was just a ***** load of dust blocking the vents LOL, technician and me had a good laugh and i will probably get a cooling pad to prevent this from happening again 😅

    WOW! Such amount of dust build up in just four months? Unbelievable.

    When I opened up my Dell laptop for the first time (after four years), it was so clean that I did not even need to use duster for anything inside.

    unfortunately where i live there's a lot construction work going on, so it's a dusty environment. the fans pulling in dust clogged the vents so i will get a cooling pad cause atleast it's easier to remove dust from that than the laptop (sort of acting as a filter)
