Predator Helios 300 (PH315-51) | Driver issues | Brightness not adjustable | Sleep/Hibernate issues issues

Hi Everyone,

I am struggling with finding the right drivers and I have tried a lot, official from Acer and intel as well as from driver aggregator like https://www.driveridentifier.com

And yet I still could not get My laptop fixed.

These are the issues:
1.  Brightness is always max, not adjustable by any means.
2. Sleep gets stuck, when that happens, the screen turns black, the fan running at full speed and the keyboard lights turn on.
To get out of it, the only means is to force shutdown by pressing and holding the power button until Laptop switches off.

It is most definitely a driver issue, using Microsoft Basic Display driver fixes the sleep issues.
Something in intel(R) UHD graphics is breaking everything.

Drivers on Acer site are from 2018. They haven't been updated, even doing a clean install and using Acer drivers does not fix the issue.
I have tested the same on Windows10 and Windows 11.

I am hoping somebody might have found a resolution for sleep/hibernate issues.

PS: updating monitor driver to Generic Pnp Monitor fixed brightness.
If anybody stumbles upon this thread in search of the answer, update the monitor driver to Generic Pnp Monitor fixed brightness stuck to the max and not changing, from device manager - update intel display driver to Microsoft Basic Display driver, if the sleep issue is fixed, in that case, go to https://www.driveridentifier.com/download.php and scan your computer, it will show all compatible graphics drivers from different vendors.

Hopefully, one of them will work, for me, it was a newer version from Acer only.
Also try to download from intel directly,

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/search.html?ws=text#q=&t=Downloads&layout=table&cf:Downloads=[{"actualLabel":"Graphics","displayLabel":"Graphics"}]

This one did not work for me, but it might work for you. For me, a driver from list shown by this website worked, https://www.driveridentifier.com/download.php

Before anything else you should change "Performance" setting in "Intel Optane memory and Storage Manager" application from the window store ( https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9MZNG5HZWZ1T ).
    1. Open the app
    2. Go to the Performance section
    3. Turn OFF "Link Power Management"

Cross your finger that it fixes everything.

Like @xapim said. You need to clean install windows 10

I would recommend the following : (my personal opinion)

    1. Clean wiping OS drive.
    2. Installing the drivers and predator apps from the site(acer/intel/nvidia).
    3. Updating windows update (except feature update!)
    4. Updating win store APPs.
    5. Setting up and personalizing the user.
    6. Installing your essential-required software/apps.
    7. Creating a backup.

Thanks for responding, I have tried that several times. Maybe some way to diagnose what exactly preventing it from going to sleep.

kashishbhatia122  as i said dont use sleep mode doesnt work since win7 came out microsoft never fixed anything neither ever will if you want to blame someone about that blame them and acer only releases drivers when the models come out they wont be updated after as they were tested to work properly withthe windows version that shipped with its up to you to get them updated manually if you need to also the only drivers you should need to update are the dgpu if you have any issues im still on 1089 here and not a single issue the issues come as long as you leave windows updates enabled or update windows to a newer version good luck i have nothing else to add to your thread :)

Also as i said to me youre a spammer theres no need for anyone to do what you did spamming all other threads demanding for help on your own u come here for help open your thread and wait like everyone else does and i dont support spammers neither anyone who demands anything for us as i had already said many times we arent acer employees neither this community its acer direct support channel we are normal users like yourself here voluntarily on our own free time so next time you need help for something read the ACUA and follow the rules have a great day
Thanks. And as I have said I won't be spamming again, this is my first thread.
