Hello,

So I have problem with acer logo stuck on automatic repair. Cannot access acer erecovery as alt+f10 end up on screen being black (d2d is enable in bios). As cannot start from any means, I have decided to reinstall my system. Made bookable dvd from official Microsoft site and burn my dvd. Set up in bios to start boot from dvd and disable security boot.

Now problem is that after turning laptop on, it ask me to press any key to start boot from dvd. Without pressing anything it will go back to acer logo and start automatic repair loop. If I press any key, acer logo will change resolution and loading circle will stay in loop.

Any ideas why I cannot boot from dvd? Have checked on other laptop and dvd works fine.

Press and hold the power button till the laptop shuts off. Unplug charger. Insert paperclip into reset pinhole on bottom for about a minute. Plug charger back in and wait for battery charge LED to turn from steady orange to steady blue. Then try to boot from the DVD again.

There was no effect. I mean, light did got from orange to blue but issue remain.

Also took battery out. Clean it a bit etc but also didn't help.

Your DVD disc may have burn errors that can't be read properly in your DVD drive. I suggest that you us Microsoft media creation tool again and make a USB installation pendrive instead. They are more reliable than burnable discs and dvd drives these days.

I have checked this dvd on diffrent laptop and was able to boot from it. I don't have flash drive. I spend my last money today to buy dvd. (I'm a poor student)

Also funny enough. After I press any key to boot from dvd and take dvd out, laptop still remains in acer loop. No error or anything. Just keep trying to load.

NO!! This is exactly why you should NOT use a writeable DVD disc made on another computer. These writeable discs are notorious for not being usable on other computer's DVD drives because the DVD drives are NOT the same. Your DVD drive LEDs might also be dusty inside or not aligned the same way as the other computer's drive. Phase change discs are very unreliable.

So you should borrow or buy USB flash drive. They are very reliable and very inexpensive these days. Even a poor student can afford them. Less than $5usd for a 16GB usb flash drive would be big enough to create a bootable flash drive.

Also re-check that secure boot is still disabled in BIOS. It may have been re-enabled if you did not first set and save a supervisor password. Then re-enter the BIOS with the password to disable secure boot. It should then stay disabled.

Oki. Guess I will have to do some paid surveys (yes, this is my income source) tomorrow to get this sandisk.

It will be funny cuz I had last £5 on my account today and had to choose between disc and flash drive. 🤣

I do hope it will work as literally won't be able to study if my laptop won't work.

Will update tomorrow or day after depends how much they will pay for my thoughts. 😅

To rule out it is the problem with the DVD drive, I'll download from Microsoft again and this time create it to a 8 GB flash drive in FAT32 format.

Due to the slower speed and limited storage of a DVD disc, people are using DVD drives less and less.

Try go to BIOS and Load Optimized Defaults (F9) and then Exit and Save (F10) before trying to boot from this 8GB flash drive.

Not yet. Probably tomorrow will be the day for sandiak option.

    Load defaults also don't help.

    Will update tomorrow evening.

Press & hold power button till machine shuts off. With the USB stick inserted, turn it back on and immediately start tapping the F12 key. A boot menu should appear.

So when I boot from f12 and choose sandisk, it dont show this wierd colours on screen but it goes black for a moment, show acer logo for a second, go black screen again and throw me back to acer loading loop.

Did you set and save a supervisor password in the BIOS menu and disable secure boot? Check the BIOS again to make sure secure boot is turned off in UEFI mode.

Password is set and save and security boot is disabled.

I think i might suspect issue here.

If I will unplug charge and turn it on instead of this wierd coloura from flash drive boot, it will just show acer logo for a sec, reset and try to boot normally. Light for battery after plug again will go from blue to orange.

If I will plug charger and try to boot from flash drive it will produce this green colours again.

If I will unplug charger during this green colours, laptop will reset and try again to boot normally. Orange colour again on battery light.

Could it be battery? I have already reset battery before.

How does your computer behave if you remove the HDD?

    I'm not an Acer employee.

Didn't want to touch hardware as of yet.

Worth mentioning that before that I had constantly problem with "scan and repair disk". Always end up on loop if I didn't cancel it on time.

Its also my suspicious that it could be hard drive.

Just in case now downloading win 11. I know probably won't work but new hhd is £50 and battery is £30. For me that is a lot.
