I bought my predator helios 300 last year and everything was working perfectly until recently that the web cam is not working anymore.  I don't see it on the device manager as well.  I tried to get to the driver's page but the Camera driver is missing. I've already tried the RegEdit command listed on one of the thread but it ain't doing anything.

Unless this is a known issue, then I must be missing something....

I already checked my Norton Anti-Virus and it's not a feature that I have.

Device Model:

This is the  error message:

When I try to find the device under Device Manager it is not showing there as well.

Here is the camera settings:

DarthKeith worst case scenario would be a hardware issue best case if its not recognized could just be a loose cable or software issue you seem to have some usb driver issues there and also whats under other devices and have you checked hidden devices ?

To completely rule out any software issues i would recommend a battery powerdrain followed by a bios setup defaults and if the issue still persists a stock recovery clean install (make sure you back up everything you need first and disable windows updates permanently after) assuming your acer stock recovery partition its still intact select delete everything option see the video below

If after this procedure the issue still persists that would point to the best case scenario a loose cable of the webcam faulty that would need  to be replaced at this point if youre under warranty i would contact acer support and send it back to get it fixed good luck :)

I might try what you suggested @xapim,  over the weekends since I need to carefully backup my files.  Would be a great shame if it's hardware as this baby just came off warranty and is my first time to buy a predator laptop.  Hopefully it's not the case.

Seems like this is really a hardware issue....  I tried fresh resintall of win 10 and upgrade to win 11 and it is still the same...  I even tried reseating the cable of the camera to the motherboard, but still no go...  will bring the laptop to a service center asap and will update again.

That most probably is the missing camera.  I tried using an external camera and that is working fine.  It's not a software or driver issue, but hardware.  I haven't been able to bring my laptop to an authorized service center yet though to fully confirm that it's a faulty device.

The steps i followed to make my work correctly.

    1) uninstall webcam from Windows Devices + restart pc

    2) re-install chipset drivers for the laptop writing down the serial number from support page

    3) restart pc and camara recognized and working with full resolution

If you feel that it's just a driver issue with windows not any physical damage, then don't worry. Just go to a shop near to you or take help from your friend and get a usb camera to attach with your system. In my case I used ZEBRONICS Crystal Clear Webcam. After using this, I was surprised, inbuild camera working properly after removing it.
I was facing this challenge with windows 10 & 11. Searched lot of web-site for drivers, but not able to fix. Also consulted with support team multiple times, but they don't have any good solutions with him.
But it worked. So try to connect any external camera, it will install driver in it and then your inbuild camera will work fine.
Request to acer:- Provide best driver facility with windows updates, It was not a good support this time.
For me above solution did not worked.

Windows11 uses the Microsoft store for the build-in devices like your camera, You can refresh/reset these store apps with a PowerShell comment or enter the store and reload Camera:
