Hi everyone so I have a Predator Helios 300 G3-572, specs are:

  • CPU: i7 7700HQ 2.8GHz
  • GPU integrated: Intel HD graphics 630
  • GPU: GTX 1060 (6 GB)
  • SSD:  M.2 500GB (340GB being used, I have everything installed on it including OS)
  • HD: 2TB (80GB being used, only COD MW intalled, its too havy rsrs)
  • RAM: 16GB (one stick)
  • SO: Windows 10 Home 64 bit.

I bought it last year and it always had less FPS than should (no i do not play on battery and in every config like power management i found i set to "Prefer Maximum Performance").

Playing League of Legends i get 80~130 FPS (does not matter if it is on Low or High settings), CS:GO is the same thing ~100FPS in Low settings. Temps are Ok, u will see in the prints.

Already tried to do:

  • Optimize Windows (did almost everything as the guy on this video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTPMwQKlfPE and some other stuff),
  • Install older versions of nvidia drivers (388.31),
  • Formatting (when i installed the SSD)
  • Running a memory diagnostic (mdsched.exe, no problems found)

Never tried:

  • Undervolt / Overclock.
  • Using programs that changes configs like power managemant or so.

Here are some prints while playing / not doing anything / benchmarks, etc. If u guys need any more information just ask for and i will provide asap.

Programs that are open: (memory that was beeing used ~4GB)

  • Predator Sense
  • Task Manager
-----(in background)------
  • Sophos (Antivirus)
  • Dolby
  • LG Hub (mouse drivers and configs)
  • LightShot (printing program)
  • NvidiaGeForce Experience

I ran a benchmark but it could not run with the 1060, in the middle of the process it said:

“WARN: skipping NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 - unable to locate attached display”

so it kept doing with the Intel HD Graphics 630

https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/27157626

Something strange happened when i tried to run the benchmark program with the 1060, my screen blinked blue (the windows blue color) and after that the dolby program and all related NVIDIA programs that run on background (next to the battery icon) disappeared, including the program that shows what programs are running with the 1060. And I had to restart to have them open again. Tried running in compatibility mode (win 7) but nothing changed.

Here are prints of msi afterburn while playing (just the game was opened and steam if needed):
(CS:GO, League of Legends, Rocket League, in this order)

I know i should have more fps than that... You can feel it sometimes while playing, that something is not smoth as it should... Like in warhammer vermintide 2 lobby it does not hit a solid 60 fps.

Try to find out some game optimizations old games weren't optimized to run on new gpus (that are now outdated) these gpus didn't even existed when these games came out also get 16gb in dual channel hyperx or vengeance 2400mhz because that's the max 7th gen cpus support user benchmark cannot run on 2 gpus at same time to run on the dgpu u need to set up on nvcp manually and do the same for csgo
Also make sure that you have your windows properly optimized

Also if you're gaming and streaming at the same time with the same device you'll have issues most pro streamers use one device to stream and another to game anyway im just point it

I do think my windows is optimized and i have already tried to change which GPU executes the benchmark program manually via nvcp and because of it the blinking problem / disapearing programs happened. And also i don't believe that the problem here is the single channel mode, as i already saw other people saing this (including - if i am not mistaken - yourself in another thread in this forum). And no, i do not stream.

Well your games is running in intel integrated graphic. To play with full potential (first disable your antivirus if you installed any third party software if not then disable real time protection from settings, enable your protection again after completing my all below steps)

open control panel uninstall current nvidia control panel(or nvidia software)after uninstalling restart your laptop.
    Now,
Download laptop nvidia software from my link and follow all steps
)Set high performance plan from predatorsense
    2)always play while plug in
    important-
Update your graphic driver you have to install nvidia software for that, driver in acer site are just base driver.

GET GAME READY DRIVER Download software from nvidia site, go through my link then select you graphic card details and download game ready driver

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

After installation open nvidia software go 3d settings and add you game .exe file and set setting high performance nvidia processor then you can open you game

@GAMING6698 Already tried to do that (also tried unninstaling nvidia drivers via DDU), nothing changed, and I was already playing with the high performance nvidia processor, the prints shows the 1060 in action...

@GAMING6698 As i've said above, i already tried to uninstall using DDU nothing changed again... (not that it would in the first place as i've already tried formatting it to install the SSD)

If anyone for some reason find this thread again, clean installing windows did make things a little bit better for some time, like +10 fps on avg. But it was temporary… The best thing i did was an undervolt because of temperatures… But the fps never was what it should have been… Maybe we are just unluky :(
