I only get a black screen! Nitro 5 An517-51-77

When I turn my Nitro 5 i7 on I get a black screen. The key board lights up and the fans go but nothing else responds. I cannot get to the settings or bios pages as I don't even get as far as the acer logo, I have tried a power reset and it accomplished nothing.
Please help me I would like to keep this laptop!

  • What is the exact model? Example an515-51-75kz. Have you tried to reset the battery?

    Hi Gwow,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    ​2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit. 
    3. You will be in setup utility page. 
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself. 

    Check this T/S and post the result.

    An517-51-77qv, I have let the batter discharge and tried again to no joy, I cannot find the pin hole to reset it, I don't think it exists on this model

    Saddly screen remains blank when booting so tried this and could not see anything

    Hi @Easwar I finally got into the bios screen but this didn't help it went to a preparing to repair screen for 3 hrs.

    Hi Gwow,

    # Reset the unit, (It will remove all the data--->Unit goes to Day 1 of default version)

    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold Alt+F10 keys(without releasing the keys) ---> Trun ON the unit. 
    3. You will get a blue screen(Title Choose an option). (Release the keys)
    4. Click troubleshoot option.
    5. Click on Reset this PC.
    6. Go with the option (Keep my files/Remove every thing)
    7. Then follow the on screen instruction. 

    Check this T/S and post the result. 
  • OK! Turn off the computer, disconnect the power adapter, press the power button for thirty seconds and leave the laptop off for thirty minutes.

    Hi,
    I have a Nitro 5 AN517-51 with the same problem! This is really annoying because I bought this Laptop a few months ago. 
    I have tried all of the above but the black screen still persists. 

    Is there anything else I can try?
