My second monitor has been working for a while on a mini display port connection, but after a Windows Update it suddenly stopped working.

I've tried to:
- install all video related drivers
- install NVidia drivers
- install GeForce experience
- downgrade/rollback drivers
- restart my computer multiple times

I know for a fact that it can work (as it was working before) and there's nothing wrong with the monitor or cable. What can I do to fix it so my monitor works again?

After a lot of research in the depths of the internet, I found a random comment saying:
    1. shutdown everything
    2. remove the monitor from the power source for a few minutes
    3. plug everything back in
    4. start everything
For whatever reason letting the monitor shutdown and discharge everything makes so the connection works again.

Try this before listening to advice saying to buy a new cable/new monitor/taking it to assistance. Turning it off and on again sometimes works really well.
