Hi All,

I would like to upgrade my Acer laptop to windows 11 but the Windows PC Health Check app says its not compatible?  Checked the requirements which it seems to meet including the TPM.

Then checked Acer website saying my model AN515-42 is not compatible.  My laptop is currently running Windows 10 64 bit, 1GB SSD, 16GB RAM

Is this correct?  Is there any way to upgrade to Win 11?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

You will have to wait for the official version. They might change something for the compatibility.

Thank you both, I have checked Microsofts spec for Windows 11 and I cant see why it wouldn't be compatible.  Hopefully will be able to upgrade in the coming weeks/months.

I have also just joined the Windows Insider Program to help see if this prompts me for Windows 11 in the near future

    Check the intensity of BITS:

It seems to be a minimum requirement for installing windows 11. Also, secureboot and the uefi boot mode must be enabled in the bios.

Well I have the same laptop. I installed Windows PC Health Check Up Software and it said My PC isnt compitable. Altough I have met the minimum requriemnts. Then I researched about it and I found Ryzen 5 2500U isnt compitable with Windows 11.
Check official support page from Windows -
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-amd-processors

Dont lose hope guys. Wait for the final build, microsoft is still working on Windows 11. We may get Windows 11 officially when the final built will release.

    Hi,
Just to be sure, download the new system requirements app, they've updated it and will tell you what's wrong (and I'm pretty sure there's a custom windows 11 requirements app checker on the internet open source on github somewhere).

Anyway, please open a terminal (or use Windows key + R and run the command tpm.msc), something like the following screenshot will open, please do a screenshot too then send it here: and check the TPM version at the bottom (I think your device have the 2.0 version anyway).

If this's fine, your PC will be compatible for sure in the future, so don't lose hope.
I guess you're already subscribed to the windows insider program, if not and you're interested into having preview or even dev build version (which may be really unstable), give it a look.
    Have a good day.
    **************.

The Microsoft Win11 tool is buggy, so bad in fact they pulled it. It's incorrectly flagging systems as incompatible. Run this https://github.com/rcmaehl/WhyNotWin11

It'll tell you in more details if its compatible, or why not

Yes, the machine is just old enough that Microsoft doesn't support it. Keep on running Windows 10 until you are ready for an upgraded machine, then switch to W11...
