All on a sudden my laptop is not detecting the microphone of my headphone. Tried with using different headphones. Checked every driver. But not working. Can anyone help?

Sometimes a simple system restore will fix the issue..

    Try windows x
click on power shell admin or command prompt admin
    type rstrui
chose an earlier date on which your computer was working fine
    click on next, finish, yes
It will restore your computer to an earlier date
if you get an message - system restore not completed - click on close
It will show you all the icons..

Try and check whether it is working now ..

    Try windows x
Go to device manager - Go to sound video and game controllers.  Expand it
Uninstall the sound driver from device manager.  Please uninstall all the items below the sound video and game controllers.
Restart the computer.  It should work fine..

If it is still not working
Uninstall the sound driver from device manager
    Don't restart the computer.
    Go to support.acer.com
    chose your country
type snid or chose your model
    go to drivers
    Install the sound driver

Kindly go through or refer the details from link given below

@Hasibul as suggested, we need to know what laptop you have before we can give intelligent suggestions. Typically that's caused by setting the checkmark to "don't ask me again" when telling Windows you just connected headphones. Windows doesn't then look to see what was plugged in...

My laptop model is Acer Swift 3. And I don't think anything like that happened while connecting the headphones. I can hear the sound but the microphone is showing not plugged in. I have reinstalled whole sound driver. But no luck yet. And please let me know if you need any extra information about my laptop

There are literally hundreds of different Swift 3 models. Yours should be something like SF3xx-xxx-xxxx. When you plug something in to the jack the first time Windows asks you what it is. If you respond Headphones or Speakers instead of Headset it will just drive the speakers instead of speakers and mic. The actual window that comes up is potentially different for different audio drivers. My Spin 5 uses the Realtek drivers but your Swift might be different.

It is shown as "not plugged in" because you set it to headphone in Realtek Audio Console or the older Realtek HD Audio Manager. Headphone by definition is without an integrated mic.

You need to set it to headset which has an integrated mic.

I have solved the problem somehow. Realtek audio console had some bugs. It automatically removed the microphone part from my headphone. I have to manually add it. Can you suggest me some similar software? Because I had issues in the past with the same software

    Thanks @Joe@Joe9844

I had to manually select it. But I plug in my headset, nothing pops out from where I can select. So, as a result I have to go to the Realtek Audio Console and then manually fix it.
