Firstly, which Win-10 version did you install? You might have installed a 32bit version or an incompatible version to your AIO AZ3-710? Also and if you installed a correct Win-10 its impossible that Win-10 hasn't got a driver for your keyboard and mouse? Also, how were you able to install Win-10 in the first place, if you didn't have a mouse or keyboard?

The AZ3-710 accommodates a normal keyboard controller of the Super I/O ITE8732 and normal USB Connectors of Six USB ports (two on side and four on the rear). Try to do the Win-10 installation again when your mouse and keyboard work (if they work?) otherwise, there must be something wrong with your USB board or keyboard or mouse? There are allot of variables that can contribute to hardware failures as an operating system does defiantly not cause basic functions like mouse and keyboard failures.
  • Maybe it is a problem related to the version of the bios?

This system I am talking about had windows 10 on it working fine, coworkers applied updates. Took forever and then mouse and keyboard as well as touch screen stopped working after the features update.

Funny how there are like 5 identical threads with many people commenting they had exact same problem and I am tagging on to one of them and some folks are incredulous that this could happen.

Nothing wrong with the physical mice and keyboard or touchscreen.

Works fine in the BIOS setup.

Bios version since updated no improvement.

Looks like the update rollback feature only works for updates in past 10 days.

Mouse, keyboard and touchscreen all connect to the rest of the system through USB ports, either external ports you plug a cable into or internal ports that don't have any actual physical presence. Likely the low level drivers got corrupted during the update process. If your keyboard is wired, or you connect a wired keyboard, you should be able to verify it's not a hardware issue by entering the BIOS. The keyboard and mouse should work there if the hardware is working. Next enable the F12 boot menu, disable secure boot and boot to a Windows install flash drive. Go into the Repair mode and try some of them, that will verify it's again not hardware, and the base Windows drivers still work. You might have to do a reinstall from there to get everything back, if none of the repair options gets it back up and running.

    Hi cxq109,

    # Reset the unit, (It will remove all the data--->Unit goes to Day 1 of default version)

    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold Alt+F10 keys(without releasing the keys) ---> Trun ON the unit.
    3. You will get a blue screen(Title Choose an option). (Release the keys)
    4. Click troubleshoot option.
    5. Click on Reset this PC.
    6. Go with the option (Keep my files/Remove every thing)
    7. Then follow the on screen instruction.

Check this T/S and post the result.

    Update September 2021,

So...resetting the machine (wiping drive) was not an option--too many critical facilities software apps that office no longer has the install disks for.

Repair installation also did not work.

The only thing that worked was to crack the machine open, remove the hard drive, put the hard drive in my other machine:

    AMD CPU Ryzen 9 3900X 12 Core/24 Thread 3.8GHz CPU on an ASUS Prime X570-Pro AM4 Motherboard.

The 1.0 TB Western Digital Blue HDD (spinner) from the ACER machine took a lot longer to boot on my Ryzen machine (changed the bios settings to boot to the Acer's hard drive on the Ryzen CPU/Motherboard). It loaded up Windows 10 fine (after reconfiguring itself finding the new hardware and loading failsafe bootstrap universal drivers on the new system) and voila was able to get keyboard and mouse working A-ok. Was able to log on to it in the first time in months.

Plan was to install Teamviewer on the machine while the hard drive was on the Ryzen system, then transplant it back into the Acer. This was the free option. Once back in the Acer it was hoped that with Teamviewer configured in full remote access mode that I'd be able to remotely log on even without anyone having used a local physical mouse/keyboard to intially log on to windows. Teamviewer is supposed to be able to do this.  This however did not work for me, after dozens of tweaking attempts.

So for like a dozen times, I'd move the hard drive between the two motherboards, booting up and tweaking things in Teamviewer and Windows. Nothing worked. Teamviewer worked fine when I booted on the Ryzen system. I could remotely access and log on to the hard drive on the Ryzen system, even if I did not 1st try logging on with mouse keyboard.

Once back in the Acer machine, when booted up and allowed to load Windows 10 all the way to the log on screen, the system would never show up as being online in my Teamviewer account.

I thought I could use Windows 10 remote desktop connection, as I have Windows 10 Pro on my Ryzen. Turns out the machine you want to access remotely is the one that requires Windows 10 Pro.

So I end up biting the bullet and paying $99.99 to the microsoft store to upgrade from Windows 10 home to pro.

The upgrade goes through ok, and transplanting it back into the Acer and booting it up, it did take a bit longer than other times as it configured itself to the Acer motherboard and CPU and hardware. (I was concerned Windows might not handle the swapping of the drive between machines without the registry getting corrupted or something goofy happening).

Again with Windows 10 Pro now loaded on the Acer and booting up to the log on screen, all the USB ports are dead and the touch screen is dead. Nothing has changed. I use my Ryzen system with its own independent legitimate copy of Windows 10 Pro, I right click on the Acer machine in my Network icon in Windows Explorer and select "Connect with Remote Desktop Connection" and voila, it shows me the log in screen and allows me to remotely log into the machine.

From their I go to Device Manager and sure enough the USB 3 device is disabled automatically by Windows.

Re-enabling it remotely and voila, USB Mouse and Keyboard work again as others mentioned in other threads.

Also the nerve wrecking thing is that sometimes Teamviewer works now before loading Windows with a physical log on, and other times it does not work. It also applied one update and it disabled the UBS 3 drivers AGAIN, and that time I was able to use my phone running Teamviewer to re-enable the same driver in device manager.

Worst case scenario, you can try moving the hard drive to another machine.

I did not try reinstalling Teamviewer, and doing so while running setup as an administrator (although I did so on a full administrator account, but some suggested doing that anyway) to see if that would be "bullet proof" to eliminate the need to pay for Windows 10 Pro.

https://youtu.be/n8VGIXzG-so is where I found how to take back panel off.

If the forum doesn't like me linking to youtube just search for "acer aspire z3-710 disassembly" in the Youtube search bar.

Roll the OS back to where it was working, then enable Remote Desktop or some other remote management software, then redo the OS update and remote into the system to do whatever is needed to get the ports back working again.
