ACER Swift 3 - SF314 - How to connect to eGPU?

Afternoon all - First time here.
I have an ACER Swift 3 (SF314) with TB4 connectivity. I want to connect my external GPU (Razer Core-X housing RX570 Armor). Anyone tried this? I can't seem to get the thing to work with any stability..... Tried installing RX570 driver and the system went all "Blue-Screen" on me, currently just connecting my external monitors via the TB4 and not got enough grunt for my photo editing.... Suggestions welcome

Sounds like there are driver issues, since the Razor Core X only requires TBT3 and you have TBT4. I wonder if they are relying on some sort of Apple only timings...

Thanks for that Billsey - I figure that might be the case - I suspect there is conflict between the Iris internals and the RX external and then there is the TBT3 vs TBT4 thing - I always understood TBT4 would be backward compatible....?? Lots of speculation going on in my mind but no firm resolution

I doubt if it's Iris vs RX conflicts, there are too many systems that support two GPUs, including a lot of Acer laptops. TBT4 is backward compatible, but if they are relying on some Mac specific tweak to TBT3 it's possible that tweak isn't there in a PC implementation. Maybe diving deeper into the BSOD that is generated would help find the cause. Can you get everything connected to try and generate them again? Take a picture of the screen and post it here to see where it's pointing, then we might get into decoding the dump file...

Check as many dumps as you can. Are they all kernel errors? Are there any pointing at the video drivers?

Hi Billsey - Just to let you know, the problem was with a Caldigit TBT4 hub I was using, once I plug the Razer direct to the laptop, no issues!! A bit annoyed as the Caldigit cost £200UK, any ideas as to a decent alternative?

Yeah, the hubs often tweak the output in order to do all their functions, and I'd kind of expect an eGPU to want to use everything available.
